If this has been discussed anywhere else I missed it, so...
What did the scene where Spike and Buffy's clasped hands burst into flames mean to you? It couldn't have been ordinary flame, because neither of them showed any pain whatsoever. In fact Buffy seemed astonished and almost joyful from the experience, while Spike seemed surprised and more than a little shocked. I've heard it tied back to the "I want the fire back" song from Season 6, but that just seems too easy an answer to me. There MUST have been something else going on there, a bonding of souls, a metaphysical connection...SOMETHING.
