So the new Flash movie coming out will also feature Batman. As in Michael Keaton's Batman. As in Ben Affleck's Batman. And I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have Robert Pattinson's Batman. DC studios is officially launching the multiverse with this movie.

If done right there could be some really cool otherworld movies coming as a result. Or at least a good way to do a soft reboot without wiping their hands of the orignals.

Eh. Multiverses only work if you have a compelling story to tell with characters who don't exist in the same continuity. Like Jay Garrick wants to meet Barry Allen. Or you really want Alan Scott to be gay for some reason. Old Actors getting to interact with younger actors seems to be a indulgence for a concept that causes nothing but headaches.

Done properly, this could be a great movie, and pave the way to a future of standalone movies that don't have to adhere to any particular time line, while still preserving what has already been established. Keaton returning in what might be a recurring role as Batman is great, but my biggest "HOT DAMN!!!" moment was when they announced that Affleck would, indeed be returning, even if only for this one time. His version of an older character, approaching the point where it gets more and more difficult to continue the fight is both unique fitting, as it establishes the fact that, like Ezra's Flash, not all superheroes are roughly the same age (Wonder Woman, being immortal, obviously doesn't count)

The animated movie, "Flashpoint Paradox," was good, and, though I didn't particularly care for the artwork, I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it, but a live action version could be much better, if done properly, though I will miss the scene at the end where Bruce/Batman is given the letter written by his father. I love a good tear-jerker.
