Ok so I think there was a subject on this a while back I dunno how it went or if it was closed for some reason. Maybe i'm thinking there was one years ago, if there is a problem with this subject please close the thread anytime.

I just watched on yahoo a video about how they think the airlines are going to start charging for infants under two years of age, along with any kind of overstuffed carry on, and they even predict that before long you'll have to pay to talk to the attendants at check in.

I gotta say, all this crap they are doing I understand its for safety and that its also to help pay for the fuel but seriously I think they're taking it way too far.

I have been flying since I was 10 years old, I'm now 22 i'll be 23 in August, and I really miss how it used to be seriously It was so easy to fly and enjoyable it really was I loved it, but since 911 its just become more trouble than its worth almost. The thing with charging for infants is so outrageous. First they say its safer for your infant to be in your arms, now they're saying it isn't. The first time my son flew he was 4 months old, and I felt perfectly fine with holding him the entire flight. Plus it was much easier than lugging around a big stroller, a huge carseat, my carry on, the diaper bag and the baby. I honestly think if they keep charging they are going to loose most of their business. I don't know a lot of moms who can handle the charges. I mean I could see if we could have help carrying all the crap but there is no help. I was shocked beyond shocked when the last time I flew they actually allowed my father to get a temporary pass to help me back with the baby to my gate and stay until the flight took off. Now he couldn't help me to the actual plane but the gate was good enough.

I don't know I just think its all crazy and I just had to get it out there. Honestly if these charges actually go through I think i just may give up on flying... cause really all the stress isn't worth it. I'll just take a train next time might take longer but at least its not so stressful.

I haven't flown in a couple years, but I remember pre-9/11 flying... I'm one of the few of my age who do. See, my family owns a villa in Greece and we used to go every summer. After 9/11 flying was more of a hassle, but the month in Greece was worth it. Over the years, however, flying has gotten so much more expensive. I haven't been to Greece in years and I'm really wondering when I'll get the chance to go back. I know it won't be for at least a few more years....

I welcome that.. oh yeah. There is nothing worse than an 8+ hour flight and listen to some babbling little infant wailing away. Maybe if they start charging for kids under the age of two they wont take them. I know its really not politically correct, sue me.. I dont want babies and what not on my flight.

I don't fly that often, last time was two summer's ago, it was the first time I flew by myself and I missed my flight home of course, it wasn't my fault my earlier plane was delayed and I had to spend the night at a hotel in Vienna, it was actually kinda great cos I love staying at hotels. 😛
I don't think flying from my home country is a hassle, it's just really boring. But when I am flying from Israel, I go there sometimes, I always have to answer questions at the airport like about my family, why I was there and what I was doing, but besides that and all the soldiers everywhere it's not that different from flying from Sweden.
I went to New York in 2004 and when we got to the airport I think we had to give fingerprints and stuff, I don't remember exactly but the security over there was way tougher, I had to go through like 3 body checks.

See that always bothers me when people say they have issues with infants on planes... Again i've been traveling for 10 years + and ya know what Its not the end of the world to have an infant on a plane. I'm lucky that my son is one of the kids that sleep practically the whole flight and maybe only cries like 10 minutes of the trip if that. Still Ya know what even parents have to take their kids and to have people saying can't you keep your kid quiet I swear I actually heard some guy tell some woman that when I was like 14, the guy was two seats up and I very nearly went up to him and punched him for being an a**. Maybe they should make flights for people who don't want to be bothered by a child? In the same right I really hope they don't charge for infants cause seriously I see them loosing a whole bunch of money cause I think any flight i've ever had there were at least 6 people with young children.

I don't mind infants 'cause I've flown with my grandfather so I know there are much more annoying things on planes.

My main problem with kids on planes are the irresponsable parents who expect kids to sit fine on an eight hour flight with no entertainment or anything to do. I also don't understand why they can't sit all families in one area of the plane so at least all the screaming crying brats are together.

I'm pretty sure if/when I have my own kids I'll feel completely differently, but at the moment if I'm paying hundreds of pounds for a flight I want to not be disturbed by a kid constantly kicking the back of my seat or constantly moaning that they're bored.

I just had a bad flashback to when I was flying from Stockholm to Gothenburg and there were these two kids sitting behind me, they were like 10 or so and they spent like the whole flight playing rock, paper scissor. I thought I was gonna go crazy, they should make separate flights for people who travel with kids and for those who don't.

That's nothing. On the way home from South Africa (a 21 hour flight) my grandfather PUT HIS HEAD on the woman beside him's lap. She yelled at him, so he turned around and PUT HIS FEET on her. And he had to stand up all the time and fix his pants IN HER FACE... That poor woman.

Is your grandfather crazy? I've always thought my grandfather was a little insane cos he actually drinks the water that he keeps his false teeth in over night, but at least he doesn't put his head on strangers laps omg!! hahahaha 😀 how can you do something like that

I started taking seat at the back of the plane because i kept getting kicked in the 'back' Yes, the bit about nothing for them to do is the problem. Spread out as well. When one parent sits in front of you and the other with the child behind you and they hand things back and forth over you between one another trying to appease the child.

My grandfather's just... I don't have words. He's really... unaware of the mere existence of social rules. And he does stuff like that ALL the time.

I spent my entire first flight screaming WE'RE GOING TO FALL!! WE'RE GOING TO FALL!! Apparantly I convinced quite a few people we might actually being having technical troubles. This is why kids are awesome 😉

But yeah I hate flying I'm terrified of it so the less flying I have to do the better. But I think its ridiculous to start charging for infants. I hate all the regulations they've added since 9/11 especially the stupid one about liquids.

I hate flying. I'm the person who's throwing up the whole time. I hate that it's so necessary. I have to fly to California in March and I'm so not excites for it. If my brother weren't getting married, I wouldn't be going...

I wouldn't mind flying that much if it wasn't so uncomfortable.
After spending an hour or so in those stupid seats it hurts everywhere.

At least on the small planes that flies domestic here in Sweden.
Their seats are obviously not designed for anyone taller than 6' or so...
