Okay, so my cousin who is 18 has been asked to a club tomorrow night where they are having a Foam Party. Which is, as it suggests, a club entirely filled with foam while you dance, drink and talk. In foam.

The thing is she's not sure whether to go or not- she's worried about where she keeps her money, what to wear, will it ruin her hair and she keeps worrying about that particular episode of CSI where Catharine pointed out the kinky gross badness of foam parties.

I've never been to one so I can't give her any advice, so I was wondering has anyone on Buffy-Boards ever been to one? And if so, could you tell me whether it's a good idea for her to go or not? And if there's any problems she should consider.

Thank you!

Okay, summer clothes. But erm, sexual actions? You can call me as naive as you like when I ask this, but seriously? Sexual actions in a full on sense? In the middle of a club? In foam?

So it really is like Catharine said on CSI when she found all sorts of erm...acoutrements on the floor?

Erm I doudt actual intercourse but I dont know how to phrase this being a family friendly site erm............ lots of rubbing and maybe light sucking.

I appreciate the family friendly concern there. And also thanks for the info.
Hmm....see this is why I really don't know what to tell her. I mean there's a lot of concerns to think about- the first one I thought of is how the hell do you stop your money from getting soaked or whatever?- but I don't think she should miss out on something fun. But what if it ends up being more complicated than it is fun?

And I don't think either she or I thought about the falling concept, LorneyTunes! I'd hate that too! (Actually, I kinda hate the idea of leaving a club soaked in all honesty...haha)

Erm Ive heard they are worth going to my mate goes all the time. Erm to stop your money getting wet use coins also the bartender cannot short change you when you are drunk.

There are quite a few foam parties in Perth in the summer. Due to liquor licensing laws in Perth they can't fill the entire bar with foam, they have to have half the bar cornered off for the foamy part, and the other half for the drinking part. No alcohol is aloud to go in the foam part and while you're outside the foam part you have to be wearing shoes.
Maybe Perth is just more innocent then I always thought (although I don't think it is), but there weren't any crazy orgies that I saw... Just lots of young people having a good time like young people do. Obviously there were a few young people having a drunk pash, but that was about it.
I wore my bikini but with a very baggy singlet over the top for some decency while I was in the foam part and then threw on a denim skirt while I was sitting around drinking. I didn't wear makeup or do my hair, but in the end I didn't get as soaking wet as I thought I would. A lot of girls were wearing bikinis, but on the other hand a lot of girls were fully clothed (meaning shorts and shirts - It gets mighty hot in Perth).
For the money situation we don't really have to worry about money getting wet cause all our money is plastic, but we were worried about our gear getting stolen so we just took it in turns watching the bags. We had a group of about 6 of us and we didn't all want to be running around in foam the entire time, so while someone was sat down having a cigarette they would watch the bags.
I had a lot of fun at the foam party I went to, but I couldn't tell you how much it would differ in country to country, or even pub to pub.
Tell her to go and have a good time! Just be careful and think things through properly.
