So Chelsea's Winning...😀

Too bad my fantasy team isn't doing as good..
How are the rest of you guys going?

Arsenal and Liverpool to make comebacks? even with the Gunners without Arshavin, what do you think?
And when will Lucas Neill finally sign a new deal?!?!

Missed much yesterday but saw most of Liverpools game. They still search for form but as after the game against Stoke a big win and a lot of people think everything's great. We'll see how the next game goes. Chelsea keeps marching on but before making a final judgement lets see how they do against "better" teams. From what I've seen they've played pretty well but still got a few (very) late goals to secure some wins and if they've lost points in those games people wouldn't have been as impressed. Not saying that Chelsea hasn't deserve their wins. But the difference between being an impressing team and a team in crisis isn't as big as people sometimes think.

Arsenal have the same problem they always have. Injured players, playing well but not always winning. That need to change if they're gonna challange for the title. No one's surprised. But they sure got the talent to challange. Seeing Tottenham play well for once at the start of the season is fun but as always they can't win against United. Lets see how long they last. And United might not always play well but still get their wins (except from the game against Burnley) and will be a good team this year too. Maybe not as spectacular but still a good team. But I still feel it would be very impressive if they win once again. Not shocking or impossible. Just very impressive.

Didn't watch the game but there's been a lot of talk about Adebayor x 2. You got anything to say about it?

As for my dream team I've made some bad/unlucky/stupid decisions and to be satisfied I'd have to have 50 more points or so than I have. But considering my position it wouldn't be nice to complain too much. I'm not last at least.

See... there ya go. As soon as I saw "Football thread" I though.... oh, football. I can talk about football.

Duh. I know absolutely nothing about European football (What we call soccer here). I was ready to talk American Football! 🙂

Eagles! :D
I've not got the patience to play around with my dream team every week so I haven't even bothered apart from checking whose winning the league each week.

Interesting day. Will United show City that they have some work to do or will City prove that they have the ability to challenge for at least top 4? Too bad City is missing a lot of forwards though. And Chelsea - Tottenham shouldn't be too bad either. Tottenham off to a great start but United teached them a lesson while Chelsea has won everything so far but haven't impressed that much more. And to that I was planning on watching Milan and Real Madrid play. That's not much is it? 😉

CHELSEA!!😀
3-0 against the Spurs

Tough game for Man City, I really didn't know who was going to win that one. Everton look to have finally found their stride in a 3-0 win, I'm expecting better things from the unfortunate side now that Lucas Neill has signed to play with them (Aus Pride)
63 points in fantasy isn't bad either, I'm slowly moving up the table.

Good match, as long as Drogba isn't out for the foreseeable future. What the hell? We get things working right and then that happens. Grr....

How about that new kid Borini? He looked like a scared 12 year old coming onto the pitch lol

^Drogbas phenomenal, on 99 goals now! Just thought i'd add, Man city WILL be in the top 4 with Chelsea and Man utd. They look great and they've only just begun really, still gotta gel and add new players in January. But who will drop out of top 4? I hope Arsenal AND liverpool drop out. It'l be the same old story for those 2, they're 'almost good enough' but not quite, lol, they must be hating City

I really wanted to see City win after those shitty Alex Ferguson comments. But if it had to happen, at least it was at the hand of Michael Owen 😀

Yeah, it was good to see Owen getting the goal, although i wasn't too bothered who won. But i didn't see the Ferguson comments. What did he say?

Something like that they were a small club with a small mentality, and how it's not really a derby anymore.

I read a Ferguson interview with an American radio station, and he's talking about the money Man city have spent and how they have to win the league now, and they're too cocky. But thats a bit rich coming from MAN U! They're in crazy debt(700million at one point), and have been for a decade just so they can stay top. But Ferguson is good at the old mind games.

I felt sorry for City and of course I wanted United to loose points but it can't be denied that United deserved to win.

Football is funny. My favourite swedish team has underperformed all season (only 7 games left), was in 10th place of 16th and played titlecontenders with three players banned. The best goalscorer (5 goals. Can you understand why we've underperformed? 😉) and two important offensive players. Our starting forwards today had scored in one game each. Add that the the right fullback that never misses a game woke up sick and the captain hadn't played for a month and things look really great. So what happens? Best game for maybe 5 years (easily top 10 at least), the forwards score 2 goals each and it ends 5-0. Not like I'm complaining but I looked like this. :jawdrop:

Im curious now TK. Who's your Swedish team? Aik? Trelleborgs? Goteborg?
Personally i like Helsingborgs, because of Larsson 😉

He he. I remember. My team is Malmö FF. The most famous player they have produced in recent years is Zlatan Ibrahimovic but have quite a few great players from the past. By history the most successful swedish team with IFK Göteborg. We've won the league 15 times and the cup 14 while they have won the league 18 times and the cup 5 times. They are more successful in Europe than us though. We "only" have a final, 1979, in the old CL as the best result while they won it both 1982 and 1987.

Not sure how long this will be available but here are some highlights (they've skipped a few times when we should have scored more) from todays game. Don't you think the first has some resemblance with Bellamy's first goal from yesterday? 😉

I remember IFK back in the 90s, when the 'champions league' was only a few years old. They were actually a top team. I cant remember the specifics, but they used to win their groups with teams like AC or Man U in them. Oh how European football has went downhill since then. Obvious prediction= champs league QF= Man u, Real, Barca, chelsea, AC, Lpool.... BORING.

In regards to the Ferguson comments, I think he might just be a little peeved at the 'welcome to Manchester' thing when Tevez transferred. Not condoning his comments at all here, but I reckon some of it might lie in that.
