Football Thread - Post-Match Interviews

Milan beat the crap out of them. I saw van Basten score 4 goals against them in Gothenburg. 😀 But they once won a group with Manchester United and Barcelona. That will never happen now with a swedish team. 🙁 And there's no such thing as champions league anymore. It's more about the rich teams. And yeah. the quarter finals are pretty much always the same. Some surprises wouldn't hurt.

In regards to the Ferguson comments, I think he might just be a little peeved at the 'welcome to Manchester' thing when Tevez transferred. Not condoning his comments at all here, but I reckon some of it might lie in that.

The thing is that if Ferguson talks about you in a bad way it's a good sign. Means he's worried. How often does he talk badly about Wenger and Arsenal now compared to when they were a big threat? Liverpool hasn't been a big threat for a long time until last season and so he started talking about them. So it's all really a compliment. 😛

Oh I found one goal from that game. And since I love van Basten here it is.

It's good that Chelsea finally lost but United on top? I rather see City if it isn't Liverpool. Not that I like City that much but oh how it would annoy United. I wonder what they would prefer. Not that any of it is likely but would they rather see the cocky cityrivals win the league or the long time rivals that hasn't won for two decades? Must be an easy choice. What would you prefer Aly? 😉

Well...I'd personally prefer both clubs to be in the bottom half of the table. Not relegated though, it's funny watching them try to beat ManU, I pity them.

But if you're asking which one HAD to win, hmm....Liverpool. Why? Because then they'll get all big-headed, and the following season they'll mess about with which player is playing where. Then that will result in them staying in the bottom three all season, but in the final game they'll win and finish just above relegation. Oh, and did i mention they'd get beat 8-0 by Man U twice during that season?

(Also said Liverpool to avoid neg.karma from TK, i was blackmailed....come on..do you really think i'd choose Liverpool?? Puh-lease! (sw) )

You think that would work? Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh-lease. And there was no blackmail. So the rep is for being a liar just so you know. ;)
😀 I'd just like hear from our fellow ManU and Liverpool supporters.
Chelsea are back on top!

What was that about not moving as easily as us Aly?

Did you see Souness on Sky Sports? He hit the nail on the head - if Torres and Gerrard aren't doing something special, Liverpool isn't going to score against the better teams.

I didn't catch the game unfotunately, due to school returning the next day and daylight savings coming back on... but I think that is definitely right, Liverpool are very reliant on the Gerrard Torres duo. I'll be excited to see what TK has to say.

Did anyone watch the Old Firm match yesterday? Considering Rangers and Celtic have been playing badly recently, I didn't really know what to expect. It could have been one of those boring goalless draws, but it was great fun to watch.

About? Last nights game or how important Gerrard and Torres is for Liverpool?

The defeat yesterday was no surprise. Of course it's sad to loose but since it was expected I didn't get as down as you might think. Our defense has been crappy and our attack has been good against lesser teams at home. Nothing that scares the big teams and yesterday we saw why. Sure with some luck we might have gotten a point but we didn't deserve it.

Gerrard and Torres is our biggest stars by far so of course a lot is dependent on them. But they both missed quite a few games last season and we still did pretty well. And we got some great vicories without them. But if we're without them for a very long period of time of course we'd suffer greatly. There's no reason to deny that.

For the moment though we're missing Alonso. Lucas isn't as bad as a lot of people want to make him out to be (even if he isn't a world class player but any means.) but when people expect him to replace Alonso things go wrong. It's like expect Mascherano to replace him and since they don't have the same style of play it's impossible. But if you're playing both Mascherano and Lucas it gets easier to cut off our play wich Chelsea showed in a great way.

We're known slowstartes and it usually takes until the second national break before we start finding our form and since we're now at the second one you can only hope it looks better when the league starts again. We sure need it.

That Fabregas get a lot of points after their last game isn't surprising. 3 assists and one goal makes that happen. 😉

I just like to hear what you have to say in general :)

Actually it says he got 4 assists! 😱

thats insane....

Good to see arsenal finally scoring lots every game, i really think they will win the prem this year.

I was wondering if I had to bring that up. Too bad they remove all vids so fast. To be fair the goal shouldn't have been allowed but there is no doubt that Sunderland was the better team. And the irony is of course that is was a Liverpool beach ball and that it was a Liverpoolfan that made sure it got onto the pitch. That poor boy won't have it easy for some time.

I honestly think that kid will get beat up,

I feel sorry for livo though, really shouldnt be a goal, dont know what the hell the ref was thinking.
