Football Thread - Post-Match Interviews

Kinslayer, that hurt me just watching.

Also a big RIP to Robert Enke, was the german no. 1 GK playing for Hannover and he died today at the age of 32. Reports are saying he got hit by a train and that it may have been a suicide. Very sad.

Very, very sad. 🙁 From what I've heard he's been sick lately too.

Anyone cares about the upcoming games? The WC qualifiers.

Russia - Slovenia
Greece - Ukraine
Portugal - Bosnia/Herzegovina
Ireland - France

Personally I'm hoping for Russia, Ukraine, Bosnia/Herzegovina and Ireland even if I guess most people would prefer at least Portugal and France.

That's pretty funny but I can't help but think that he does it on purpose. Don't have to be of course but if you want to be internet "famous" if only for a little while planning something like that wouldn't be too difficult. Since it's substitions going on it's obvious that the camera will catch him.

What a wonderful note to return to the boards on 🙂 A Chelsea win over Man United.
I really hope that Liverpool will get out of their injury rut soon and climb their way back up the table.

So France made it to the world cup. Too bad they did it by cheating. And I'm so ashamed about the fact that the referee is swedish. For you that hasn't seen it here's the goal that took France to the world cup.

I'd love to see either of these two implemented.

Video Referee - Like in Rugby, if a referee is at any point unsure of a crucial decision he can opt to go to the video referee to review his decision. The video judge then looks at the incident from all angles and looks for indisputable evidence to agree or overturn the decision.

Challenge Flags - Like in the NFL, it basically follows the same ideal of the Video Ref. Except the coach throws a flag when he believes the call on the field is wrong. They are limited to 2 flags per game but if both flags are used and the coach who thrown them won the challenge by having the decision overturned he earns an extra flag.

Something like this could solve so many issues. Penalty decisions, ball crossing the goaline, goals disallowed for being falsely called offside. It would be a great thing for the game I think. Not only would it combat these decisions but I've seen many times in rugby and football where these decisions can be turning points and reinvigorate a team which is an exicting prospect in my eyes.

I just want there to be a review process so that referees are held accountable for their bad decisions. Everyone makes mistakes, but if the wrong calls are made time and time again by the same person, there needs to be consequences.

Awww. Poor Henry. According to (the not most reliable) news he was so depressed and felt so lonely shortly after the game that he considered stop playing football at all. But he changed his mind. He must have been so devestated. Poor, poor guy.

Liverpool out of the CL and it's totally deserving. Don't let anyone fool you otherwise. Even if I guess most of you are laughing at our misery. Game against Everton on sunday. Might be interesting. Lots of players missing, aweful form, away to citryrivals. But Everton has been bad this season as well so who knows what'll happen.

Managed to come across this. So Arsene. Do you want to slap Gary Neville? - Who wouldn't? 😀

Of course it's fake. But pretty well done.
