The team that i support is FC Porto, we had a another great season. Unluckily losing to Man U in the CL, winning the league title for a 4th time in a row and winning the portuguese cup as well. We have sold Cissokho (our LB) to milan for about 15 mil but hopefully we can keep our other stars and do even better in europe this season.

Porto always get underated in the UCL but they are a great team
I support Everton. I'm looking forward to the season starting again to see what we can do. I was happy with how we performed last season.

HULL CITY!! Say what you want, I've heard it all before; and usually got something to say in return 😛

I do also quite like Manchester United though, always have. I don't think they're going to struggle without Ronaldo, that's The Sun's way of looking at things 😛 He might have been a good player, but he wasn't consistent and at the end of the day, a team makes a team not any individual player 😉

I'm really sorry to any Newcastle fans, but I'm so glad they went down. It was them or us 😀 And one of my mates is a real arsey Newcastle fan!

And I don't particularly Arsenal either. Mainly because of Arsene Wenger. I hate listening to his interviews, I think he's really arrogant and rude, he never has anything positive to say about any other teams and refuses to see the flaws in his own!

/me breathes 😛

You see that is the difference here, beating us should never be the highlight of your season, nevermind the ultimate goal of your season. You can be sure as Hell beating your lot will never be the highlight of ours.

Have to totally agree with this. As a longtime Man U fan it's probably easy to say this but small minded club rivalries should never come before the ultimate success of your team. I don't care whether we beat Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or whoever else simply because I want to defeat them but because each time we do we get the three points needed to take our rightful place at the top of the Premiership again. Club success should always be a true football fan's first priority.

And as for Ronaldo, sorry but we are better off without him. We would have done considerably better this year if we had let him go the last time he started acting up. Maybe then the team would have found it's form a lot easier and sooner this season, rather than having to play around a kid that, although bloody brilliant at what he does, is far from being the best thing on the Man U squad. Hopefully Tevez will stay and get the first team play he deserves now.

For English football i'm a man U fan, always have been. Well, since i was about 4 anyway 😛

I'm actually glad that Ronaldo's gone, the amount of people saying he is the only reason Man U what the league does my head in. This year we'll win it again and prove we don't need that nancy boy.

As for Scottish team, i'm a Dundee fan, yes..they're not an SPL team, what ever! 😛 At least i'm not a glory hunter who supports someone like Glasgow or Rangers..*cough* Stevie *cough* (sw)
Hopefully this season will be the one we get promoted to the SPL!! 😀

Rangers!

Good season for them, stopping C*ltic from getting four in a row and bringing the League trophy back to where it belongs, then claiming the double with a Scottish cup final win over Falkirk. Should be an easy quadruple for them in the new season, winning the League, League cup, Scottish cup and Champions League...

I have to laugh at the Man U fans "we're better off without him". Don't get me wrong, i can't stand Ronaldo, he's a diving, moaning, whinging little cheating chumpstain, but the amount of goals that guy has both scored and created from midfield against all calibre of teams is phenomenal. Man U will still do good, and be the team to beat, but he will be missed and be extremely hard to replace.(he's still a twat)
Also, 80million squid is a disgusting amount of money to pay for a player. If he's worth that, then Kris Boyd must be worth like 200 million!

First of all, "Glasgow or Rangers"? Think you got a bit mixed up there. Secondly, how can a Rangers fan be called a glory hunter? This season aside, Rangers hadn't won anything worth mentioning for 4 straight years, they had a terrible team, and were/still are hugely in debt. Thirdly, i was born in Glasgow(please don't hold it against me anyone) to a family full of die hard Rangers fans and raised a Rangers fan all my life, not like i just picked some team at random to support. Lastly, someone who's Scottish(supposedly) who supports a highly succesful English team who wins a lot of trophies is calling someone a glory hunter? Yeah, okay then.

I really have to disagree here. Ronaldo's goals and top class proformances against the truly quality teams were few and extremely far between. Just look at him in the Champions League Final? Best Player in the World? Pfft!!!

See I think Ronaldo was actually taking alot from the team. There is no doubt he will be missed but he is not irreplacable...not by a long shot. He wasn't a team player and United are very much a club that plays as a team. We attack and defend as one and he never followed through on that. Not to mention the disquiet that must have been in the dressing room with his antics from the diving to the last two years of Real speculation. That takes from morale and team spirit.

No matter how talented a player is, if they don't want to play for the team they are not worth it. Ronaldo's performance dropped hugely this season and alot of that is chalked up to his head and heart being in Madrid.

I agree Kean they just need to get Ribery in my opinion and then they wont be any weaker.

Yeah he's definitely not the best player in the world, Kris Boyd says hello.
And you're right, he's not irreplaceable, but he will be hard to replace. I do see and agree with a lot of what you're saying, Kean, but I'm just wondering, if you take his goals away, how many games would Man U have won? His performance's dropped yet he still hit over 20 goals this season(sorry to keep going on about goals, i know they're not everything, but they sure as hell help!)

I won't argue that he has been a leading goal scorer but a very large part of the reason for that was that he was always given that opportunity. Yeah, some of his goals were out there excellent and hard to dismiss but a lot more were straight forward shots that any decent player might have got if given the same position and service from his teammates.

It's a lot easier to be player of the year and top goalscorer for your club when the team around you services that end on a regular basis. Not that there is anything wrong with that, in fact it's exactly what they should have been doing, but the fact is that Ronaldo was only ever as good as his team allowed him to be. A fact that will be proven for good or bad at Madrid, I believe.

Exactly what I've been saying for a very long time. I truly believe that the team is better off now that they don't have to play back-up to the Ronaldo goal machine anymore.

Will be interesting to see Ronaldo at Madrid next season they are building an amazing team. Kaka and Ronaldo in the same midfield is scary.

Maybe, maybe not. A lot will depend on how well they can work together upfront and as part of the team. Sometimes you find that no matter how good a group of individual players might be, as a whole they just don't work.

You're right about the goals but I think that the United team was, in alot of ways, put out to accomodate him and suffered in different parts of the picth for it. Wayne Rooney on the wing? For feck sake like! He was put their to solidify and back up the midfield which, lets face it, is dodgy as hell. Ronaldo couldn't be trusted to help out the defense or even, while going forward, to pursue the ball if he lost it. I can't help but feel that this now frees Rooney to play in his best position (just off the stiker i.e. Tevez, God willing lol). There is goals in that pairing, I just think they need to be given a permanent position that they can build something on.

IfUnited buy well, overall the departure of Ronaldo is to the benefit to the team.

See I have a feeling it isn't going to work out too well for them. Kaka and Ronaldo by their nature as strikers are greedy players. They want goals. That may cause problems. I keep going on about it but it all comes down to the team and I feel that one HUGE name (ego) per team is enough. They end up trying to dictate the necessity of their rather than the necessity of the team. I can see this backfiring.

Sticking all the big names on a teamsheet looks fantastic in theory but in practise is a totally different thing.

Good points. You know Man U much better than me. Most people do, mind you.
^^^^^^^^

Good points kean but when Madrid did the same thing a few years ago with Figo, Ronaldo, Beckham and some more tha dont spring to mind it worked well and these were quite big egos.

There's definitely a chance for that and that I don't like. 😉 But what is your thoughts about your wings? What's left? Park and Nani and new boy Tosic? And yes, Giggs of course. Does Fletcher play on the wing? I know you have a lot of players that can if they have to play wings. But is that enough? I know, you got money to buy for. Anyone special Unitedfans want or are you happy with what you got?

As for Real Madrid. As Kean pointed out, great names don't necessarily make a great team. Real have had defensive problems for years and even if there's been talk of buying defenders nothing has happened yet. They might be really entertaining next season but definitely not a certain success. Even though they'll sell a lot of shirts. 😉

Can you tell me exactly what they won with all those players together? You can always google it if you're uncertain. 😉

I think Madrid will do well but they wont win La liga the Barcelona team is out of this world.

Immediate success followed, with Real winning La Liga in 2000-01 and 2002-03 and claiming the UEFA Champions League in 01-02 with Zidane scoring the winning goal in the final. After winning the 2002-2003 La Liga title, Real Madrid added another galactico - David Beckham from Manchester United, with Ronaldo joining in 2002.

It's not like Real Madrid hasn't been unsuccessful. But the question was how much Figo, Ronaldo & Beckham won together since it was them you mentioned. 😉 Some galacticos worked but when they had too many it didn't. The sale of Makelele ruined it all. Of course Real might be successful again. That remains to be seen. But it's definitely not certain. And you think they can do well but not win la liga? Yeah. I'm sure fans and their president will be happy with second place.

It might have been immediate at the time but it only lasted a couple of seasons. For the money spent that just isn't good enough. A squad of that calibre should be dominating and Madrid didn't. That's what I mean about building a team...they had the names but not a team. That's why you need the John O'Sheas and the Ole Gunnar Solskars of the world.

TK, our wings? We can get by but I would much prefer that we buy two out and out wingers and strong holding midfielder. I don't much rate what we have at the moment. Scholes is past it, as is Giggs. That imposter wearing the number 16 shirt has no business in a United squad in my opinion. He is nervous on the ball and panics, making silly decisions and shitty passes. Not good enough.

16? So Carrick. That was kind of new. But fun with someone with a different perspective.
