Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.

The people who were starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987. They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering machine.

They have always had cable.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws!

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

Don't remember black and white TVs.

Never seen lawnmowers when they didn't HAVE engines.

Never seen 8mm movies or reel to reel tape recorders.

8-Track tapes!!!

Do you feel old yet?

Notice the larger font type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading. 😉😛

We are the retro generation, and we rock! 😛

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

Wow, I thought Jay Leno had always been on the tonight show - Like that it started with him, lol.

And in defence of everyone born in 1987 I remember who Mork was, but not were he was from...

Mork was from Ork OR Mork was from Happy Days as Mork and Mindy is classed as a Happy Days Spin-Off
Wow! No offense to the aged people, but even I remember some of those things... and I was born in 82, only five years earlier. Things really are changing fast, aren't they?

Exactly the same as me
Yeah Im with SB. 82 here.

Ive seen loads of these things but they always suggest im old 🙁

yeah, i'm with these guys...i was born in '85, only 2 years earlier, and i knew most of the things on the list...except the thing about Jay Leno, but in my defense, i'm British, and i've never been to the States.

Thanks very much OM! I really do love being reminded how much the wrong side of 40 I am 😛 😀

I wonder how old you have to be to remember phones with proper dials, not keypads...and how old to remember the days before mobile (cell) phones ruled the Earth...Anyone remember mobiles when they were the size of a house brick and came with a briefcase sized battery?😉

LOL! I do remember those big 'bag' phones!
i remember phones with proper dials!! my grandparents had one and i used to love playing with it, and making it make the funny sound!! i called SOOO many random people 'cause i wouldn't leave it alone! :silly:

Umm, wait a minute I'm having a seniors moment here...oh yeah I am not that old just because I have a push mower as a lawn ornament, a typewriter as a conversation piece and I still have a hot-air popcorn maker.
Duck Old Master I'm a swinging my cane and looking for my teeth, lol.

Back when I was a lad, it seemed perfectly reasonable that the Earth was Flat.

I understand you there OM3BC. It used to take three of us to carry a 'Notebook' but then slate was heavy.

Pish, you kids think you had it tough. I remember when our pet Dinosaurs all died out. We had to find other ways to mix our cement. Thank God for Pelicans!!

I remember me and Jesus went for a pint of mead and discussed Creationism, for some reason he was reluctant to agree with 'Evolution'. He's dead now.

Who here remembers the night the Wheel was invented. That was a party and a half. We slung a few Bronto-Steaks on the Fire and opened a few Brewskis.

Mr Pointy said:
You were lucky to have Fire. That wasn't found until I was 21. Before that we used Stegasaurus Flatulence to keep up warm of a night. I remember poor old Fred thought he could combine the Fart and Fire....well he's in heaven now.

Gee thanks OM, now I really feel older (LOL)!! I too have an old typewriter that my children look at and ask "Gosh Mom, you really used that?". I remember those childrens show that I watched, Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo. How about all those old shows- Adam12, Emergency and My 3 Sons, just to name a few. Ok, think I will go look for my teeth (I remember taking them out to soak..lol) and make sure I have enough Geritol!!
