As per @Buffy Summers order, I have started a thread For That. I am awaiting further instructions.
I am thinking this may be one of those gishwhes things that @nightshade does...
but I don't see any duck eggs and there is no dalek..

Crying and panicking over my Art History A-Levels when we were told that there was an assignment that was never given to us and we had three days to complete it. I didn't see the finale until almost a week later, after I'd recovered from the 72 hours of no sleep.

That must have been twice as bad.. to know it was going on and you could not watch it. Was it art theory or did you have to create something?

One way or another, there is always fruit involved with great art. Too bad you don't have it.. I would love to read it. I didn't get turned onto that kind of art until a few years ago, then it's just so much more in-depth and fascinating that I ever thought. When I started to really get into the golden ratio and looking at how Fibonacci sequence affected so much art. I mean, there is rhyme and reason as to why the fruit in the basket is painted the way it is.

Yeah, there's no way I have it. Art History 13 years ago was pretty much a 'no computers' zone in my college for everything except a limited amount of research.

It was a hard essay to write, I know that much. My focus was on surrealism, impressionism and pop art in the 20th Century. To churn something like that out in three says was one of the hardest things I've ever done in school, lol.

You have studied any Cuban pop? like this from Carlos Navarro


They have the same aesthetics but I like the richer palette. It's typically not a vibrant or loud.

That's incredible, I love it. Jasper Johns is definitely my favorite pop artist, even though he's more neo-dadist than pop art. I made an attempt at his encaustic technique while I was still in school, it was my favorite experience in college.

Here is one of Navarro's that I like.. I don't know why.. there's just something so striking and.. powerful about it.. it may simply be the colors, I don't know. Or maybe it sparse but full.. anyway, you see how her face is right at the golden ratio sweet spot? Its placed exactly where it needs to be. Maybe its as simple as that, which I never thought of until now.

His work is great, there's a lot of Picasso in his pieces, but I can see some Matisse in there, too. Still very unique.

When Buffy ended? Uh, high school I think. Playing at becoming a politician, traveling to Brussels to take part of what was called "Euroscola" which was basically guided tours of the EU buildings and taking part in fake parlimentary proceedings. Fun stuff 😉

Conventioning of course! I actually didn't see it on tv when it aired, not sure why as I saw most of the rest of it as it aired, but I remember buying the dvd at the End of Days convention, and watching it when I got home, back then I was more into Angel than season 7 of Buffy so that's probably why I didn't see it on tv.

That's right, you guys had mags. That must have been hard.. giving up on Buffy and then trying to find solace in Angel only having to watch the whole Jasmine thing.

Haha, strictly voluntary. It was a high school program with EU-politics in the name. I knew what I was getting into 🙂 

Mr. Pole: Did they have selfies back then? I was on their website and all the kids are sitting in their little rows all of them taking selfies. Did you aspire to politics?

I didn't even have a camera on my phone so... selfies weren't a thing.
No, I transfered from an IB program and just picked the first one that allowed me to study in all English (which I had before and made the transition easier.) My teachers tried to get me into diplomacy though, but back then I was too cool for that stuff 😉 and went the arty route as soon as I had graduated. Shame.
