For the love of all that is holy - 2 more seasons of The Simpsons!

I'm going to just go ahead and assume at this point it's going to take one of the main voice actor's dying to bring down this show. Seems like if the producers have it their way, it won't ever stop.
 
Would it really stop with a voice actor dying? I think the German Marge might have died, because from like s15 on or something somebody else gave her their voice. Of course here it was needed (unless they wanted to cancel the show for Germany or give Marge subtitles), but they might get the same idea for the original version.

yep, it was Elisabeth Volkmann (Marge's German voice) who died... and now it's Ange Engelke (I'm not kidding you, it IS Anke XD )

That won't be an issue. With the amount of episodes and cut scenes there are, Fox could simply edit together episodes together and redraw!

Rather like that Chef episode of Southpark AFTER Isaac Hayes left.

Yeah. Cangal was the one who suggested they might not stop even if a voice actor died.
I don't think they would want to continue on if a prominent voice actor died though. They retired Phil Hartman's characters when he died. With one guy voicing, say, Homer for 20 plus years, I think it'd be in poor taste to just replace him if he died. On the other hand, if one of them quit, I can completely see the people at FOX being pricks and just casting some crap actor in their place.

The simpsons was brilliant like the first 5 seasons then it all went downhill to the point where it was almost painful to watch, hated the movie and havent watched a new episode in years getting a bit fed up with anti irish jokes everytime i flick over but anyhow il only watch the old episodes when it was still good. It should have ended ages ago but its such a popular show i doubt it will end anytime soon.
 
Wow, 22 seasons. That's a long time really. I still quite enjoy the Simpsons. Episodes are often funnier on the second viewing, I find that especially true for the later series.
 
This is so weird. I've only ever seen the Simpsons twice, and that was when our economics teacher made us watch an episode in class and once in language arts.

I must admit, I love the show. I don't think it has gotten worse...storywise. But I don't like the High-def look they have gotten. It kinda kills the whole Simpsonesque style they got going. Keep it coming Matt!
 
I can't believe how long the Simpsons has managed to last, seriously. I remember my brother watching it when I was really really little. I guess it's just one of those things that's never going to end.

Is the Simpsons the longest running cartoon ever? Anyone know? It seems like it would be, it's been for so many seasons...
 
It's the longest running cartoon by a long ways. King of the Hill is the second longest running cartoon currently and they made it 13 years which gives The Simpsons a pretty solid lead (which will only grow since KoTH is ending this year).
 
I've not really seen any of the new episodes of The Simpsons. I'll sometimes catch one, but they're so different from The Simpsons I used to love.
 
If it was a choice between Celebrities on Ice and the Simspsons - I'd choose Simpsons. Not by much, though.
