Bearing in mind your significant other might see this..
What is the type of knot you tied?

A hitch knot, of course!

But, seriously, we had a church marriage, with both my family minister (Southern Baptist) and her family minister (Methodist) taking part in the ceremony.

I guess that makes it a double hitch knot.

I'm divorced so a slip knots sounds about right, I wonder can you have a noose with a slip knot .. .. now if I can only stop smiling.

A sheet bend. The bed covers start off draped equally over the bed. By morning, she has it all.

A noose and a slip knot are basically the same thing. The only real difference is in function. Called a noose, its primary function is to tighten around an object and hold (visualize a cowboy's lasso tightening around a steer's neck). Called a slip knot, its basic function is to loosen or release entirely from a tightened state (visualize a ship getting underway, casting off their mooring lines)

They may well do the same thing but they do look very different. The noose seems so much more fun if imagine all them cowboys putting a noose around a pretty (?) cows neck.
