Foreshadowing Of The Season Five Finale

Ok, this is very minor, but I just watched To Shanshu In L.A. from season 1, and before Angel puts the scroll that has the Shanshu Prophecy on it inside the weapons case, you see it for a second - and you see a dragon on it. Since the scroll talks about apocalypses - foreshadowing for season five?

Yeah, alright, it's a clutch at straws, but we need something to keep the forum going...
 
hmm good catch. I never noticed that. That is very coincidental. It was probably put there unintentionally, but you never know with Joss.
 
well, i have a theory that joss knew EXACTLY what was going to happen through each season and to each character from the very first ep, so this is a very good theory, since the scrolls were supposed to be about prophecies anyway!
 
I don't think that I've ever noticed that before. But I guess you could connect the two, after all, Angel claims that he gets the dragon in Not Fade Away.

I guess the world will never know.

Actually I thought that too. But Whedon himself confessed that most of the things in both shows (BTVS and ATS) are last minute decisions. Disappointmented then, of course. But, it is still good to find out foreshadowings. It keeps the shows alive, well, at least, for me.
 
Didn't Joss want to revisit the dragon from the Gift too, in season 6 of Buffy? I don't know, but I think the guy just likes dragons and for that reason, I suppose he may have wanted to end that whole Shanshu-thing with a dragon all along.

Yes I've heard that too, I think he wanted Buffy and Dawn to be fighting that dragon in the end, also kind of symbolic.. But they had already used so much of their budget in the musical and the dragon was not very cheap.
 
I think that was just coincidence. Joss and the rest of the people at Angel were shocked to find out that they were cancelled and you can tell because the last episodes are soooo rushed that it's not even funny. It should have been spread out over a season but it was crunched into two episodes- so I don't think Joss planned that.

Good catch, though.

Well I wouldnt say every charecter, since if Charisma hadnt gotten pregnant, Season4 wouldve been MUCH different and Cordelias dissapearance from the show wouldve also been different.
