Foreshadowing

I don't know if it's just a coincidence but in Restless when Anya says 'I'll be fine. I think I've figured
out how to steer by gesturing emphatically' could it be foreshadowing Wrecked when Willow actually does use this spell to try and drive a car, even further Anya and Willow are in Giles car together in Triangle. Maybe I'm just crazy though.

I was watching a random repeat of Angel last night, season 4 when they go underground and find the group of kids hiding and the weird bug creature.

When Fred confronts Gunn about the group all shutting off their emotions she remarks she can't do it, she doesn't want "to just be a shell".

Well, Illyria.

ohhh nice one!
Ok here is a couple more.

Spike says in Fool for Love “If you’re looking for fun, there’s death, there’s glory and sod all else, right?” this could be forshadowing the season final, when the fight with Glory ends in Buffy’s death, and also that her death will be a happy time for her because she will be in heaven.

In the Angel episode Darla in the flash back to England when Dru says to Darla "Dont be cross, I could be your mummy." is forshadowing of the fact that a couple of episodes later, Dru sires Darla.

Thats a pretty good catch...
In Nightmares The Master buries Buffy and she has to claw her way out of her own grave, kinda forshadowing the beginning of season 6 when she does so again.

In the episode just before they go to Pylea, Angel is on Cordy's commercial set "Getting a tan, and not bursting into flames!" when they go to Pylea the sun has no effect on him. Also the director tells Cordy to "lose the robe princess" when she is in Pylea she becomes an actual princess.

me thinks people see foreshadowing when there is none sometimes

You're not the only one that thinks that

I think these are all great observations actually even if they haven't been called out by Joss and crew as intentional foreshadowing.
We also have Amends.
Jenny / The First tells Angel that he sooner or later you will drink her (meaning Buffy).
Which he later does in Graduation Day.

I love your banner!!!
In 'I Was Made to Love You' April says "It's getting dark...it's getting dark so early". I wonder if that could be foreshadowing the death of Buffy's Mom, that happened at the end of the episode.

Also, same episode, at the beginning Xander says "Who would want to build anything on the Hellmouth?" and then we see April, which could be foreshadowing to her being a robot, ergo built, which, at that time, we didn't know. But if we look further into the series, it could also foreshadow the rebuilding of the Sunnydale High School, which is on the Hellmouth.

Oh man, I just love foreshadowing...thoiugh I can never tell when I'm crssing the line from real hints to paranoic crap.

yer, and it's kinda ironic how Xander is in fact a builder, and he even builds SDHS

Hell, it's the paranoic crap that's so much fun! Both of these ones though were actually really subtle. I'd never have picked up on them...

Actually, I was the one who pointed the who would want to build anything on the hellmouth one ^^
I was thinking about what Buffy, Oz and Willow said about Spike in Harsh day of light.

They called him the angry puppy, and later on Spike refers to himself as a neutered puppy that doesn't chase the others anymore... .(OK not exactly foreshadowing...)

I have always loved seeing how the writers foreshadowed different things down through the years. Sometimes I didn't catch it, but now, having seen the entire series, I go back and rewatch sometimes and go "OH!!! OMG, I didn't even notice that!" The obvious ones are Buffy saying the line about the anuerism in "The Freshman", and then of course Joyce died in "The Body", and Willow's vamp self being lesbian and then, well... You get it. I never realized the thing about Xander's eyepatch till a couple months back when I rewatched all of BTVS. I was like "OH! Awww, that wasn't a good joke to throw in there." A LOT of Season 7 had references to Xander 'seeing', so I figured something was going to happen but man I sure wasn't expecting to see Caleb poke his eye out. Yick...
Anyway, the writers are brilliant, they have proved this time and time again. 😀

Hey I just watched an episode of Angel and caght something in 'Through the Looking Glass'

When Cordy, Wesley and Gunn consult the books in Pylea Wesley reads something about com-shuck, but none of them has an idea what it means. Gunn then says "sounds dirty if you ask me", foreshadowing the meaning of the word (having sex, which people consider as 'dirty').

Only if you do it in the mud
Warren: Right. But you don't wanna hurt the Fett, 'cause man, you're not comin' back from that. You know, you don't just do that and walk away.

...and then later, he kills katrina and doesnt come back from it.

Okay, I don't know if this is getting a little too far-fetched, but...

In 'Billie' Angel teaches Cordy how to fight. He generally assumes he could come and help her after some time which she comments with something like "Besides, it could be you I'm fighting". Then, later in the episode it looks almost as if they are gonna fight, when Billie puts his mojo on Angel.
So is that some sort or false foreshadowing or what? I don't know. It just struck me that they mentioned this concept.

Okay, don't know if this counts as foreshadowing, but in Selfless Anya says "I should've died" and D'Hoffryn asnwers with "Oh, I wouldn't worry about that". That's some kind of foreshadowing, right?

After that, he also says something along the lines of, "'From beneath you it devours.' All good things in time." Definitely foreshadowing her death.

This is probably way too far-fetched but I just can't let it go: Willow hiding in a closet in School Hard. That could be a realy sneaky one to her being gay, or its just accident cos I don't even know when the writers decided she was (going to be) gay. I just wanted to get it off my chest, y'know 😉

LOL I don't think that was intentional, 'cause Cordelia was in there with her. But too funny that you noticed that!

Ok, here's a good one. Fear, Itself.

Oz fears changing into a werewolf, and tells Willow to stay away, and she shouts "Oz, don't leave me!" and it echoes throughout the house.

Foreshadowing of Oz leaving her later on because of his werewolfyness and his fear of what he becomes when he changes. Big in your face foreshadowing, but still. i love it.
