Foreshadowing

In S7 Help when Amanda tells Buffy what she did could be considered forshadowing her being potential and slayer at end.
 
I don'tnow if its foreshadowing, or backshadowing or whatever, but in Angel s5 "Why we fight", Spike says in the submarine, something along the lines of "I wont have your government do experiments on me", refering to the American government of course. Technically, it's no foreshadowing since the episode was after Buffy s4, where the government did do experiments on his brain, but it was also before, since he said it in the 1940s. Come to think of it, it's just a funny reference, but in a way it's also foreshadowing, right? ^^

I would say thats a foreshadow that fits in the timeline of years than the season but your right it is one.
On the same note: In 'A Hole in the World' Fred's father refers to LA as 'Hell A', also foreshadowing/backshadowing (depending on your perspective...there are many ways of looking at this, be it the whole essence of LA during all 5 years of the show, Fred's little trip to Pylea, or (and that's foreshadowing even from that eisode's point on, not only timeline wise) to LA in 'After the Fall').
 
Not sure if this one has been said yet but I was watching Buffy vs. Dracula and Xander was sat in Giles apartment before he squashed a bug and said "Blood is Life" and then of course Spike the said the same thing in The Gift which was obviously foreshadowing that Buffy would die rather than Dawn.
 
Hmm... In triangle Olaf the troll says that Anya and Xander's love will never last, and it kinda doesn't
 
In 'You're Welcome' when Cordy and Angel are watching the tape of Doyle, cordy says "first soldier down" ... the 'first' implies that more are yet to come, so I think she foreshadows her own, Fred's and Wesley's deaths.
 
i dont no if any one has said this before or even if it counts as foreshadowing but in this year's girls at the beggining with buffy and faith making the bed and talking part of it goes like this...

could this "little sis coming" be joss telling us that buffy would have a sister in season 5 (dawn) obvioulsly we didn't know about dawn till season 5 but could this be a fore warning from him or have i looked too much into it lolz

It most definitely is... together with two other dream scenes foreshadowing Dawn's arrival: "Little Miss Muffet counting down from 730" (in Graduation Day), and "Be back before Dawn" (should be in Restless, if I'm not very mistaken). Actually, these three are pretty much the best known examples of foreshadowing in the course of the entire series. 😉

(And, sadly, two of these three got utterly ruined in the German dub, losing the foreshadowing entirely. *kicking empty cola can over the street, pouting*)

Not nearly as good as all of yours, folks...plus I think it just a coincidence but.....

Angel once has a dream where he and Buffy get married and they walk outside into the sunlight, (I'm not sure which episode this is off the top of my noggin) he doesn't burn; though she does.

If your playing the earlier mentioned drinking game and want a shot, this might foreshadow Buffy taking the gem of Amara from Spike and giving it to Oz to give Angel. It also might foreshadow another episode where cloud cover and snowfall blanket SunnyDale and Angel gets to go outside during the day.

Nothing to neato, but there it is.
 
I just caught this today and I was so proud of myself!

When Tara and Willow are talking about The Hunchback of Notre Dame in Crush, Tara says this about Quasimodo:

"No, see, it can't, it can't end like that, 'cause all of Quasimodo's actions were selfishly motivated. He had no moral compass, no understanding of right. Everything he did, he did out of love for a woman who would never be able to love him back. Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy."

It perfectly matches Spike's relationship with Buffy both then and later in the show. After that, Buffy sort of hints toward their relationship later by saying, "The test isn't till tomorrow, right? I don't have an opinion till then."

Foreshadowing?
The dream you mention is in "The Prom", happening a full ten episodes after "Amends" (the snowfall episode)... so it's "aftershadowing", if at all. 😛

Yep, your right, had my wires crossed I did!
The most obvious one I picked up on today was in "The Gift" when the gang let Tara go and be with all the other crazy people at the tower. Just as shes leaving the magic shop she points at Giles (I think its Giles as Spike was standing next to him) and she says "You're a killer".

Within about 10-15 minutes of her saying it Giles kills Ben without a second thought. But if she was pointing to Spike then its obviously not a foreshadowing moment and just an observation.

Could just be a reference to his days as Ripper....
 
In 'What's my line pt.1' when Kendra is attacking Buffy, Buffy says "Buffy: You must be number two!", of course assuming that she's from the Order of Taraka. But in fact, this also foreshadows Kendra being the second slayer (which she mentions only moments later).
 
i was thinking about another one.....in gingerbread when willow starts ranting and raving about the magic saying "to fill her with nasty evil" (along the lines of) is a forshadow of her going dark in season 6. anyone think im right on that?


and also in the same episode when joyce is saying about "silence is the town's disease" is kinda an early reference to hush, which in fact in hush people die, and the outsiders are to believe its laryngitis! or something along those lines....
