Foreshadowing

Hmm I don't know if this is foreshadowing, I don't think it is but anyway, in Becoming Part 1 Darla says "close your eyes" to Angel before biting his neck and then in Becoming Part 2 Buffy says "close your eyes" to Angel before she stabs him?

I don't know if that is foreshadowing, one is the end of lliam one a temporary end for Angel. What it is, though, is damn ironic...maybe intentional. Good find, too similiar not to be a head nod from one to the other...thats pretty nifty.
I just realized one.
In Slouching Toward Bethlehem, after one of their sexcapades, Wesley asks Lilah to stay and she answers with "no rest for the wicked".
This is derived fro a biblical quote which literally apparently means "The wicked shall be tormented."
So this sort of foreshadows Lilah's fate. She gets killed, but due to her W&H contract she can't rest in peace and is tormented (she mentions coming from hell in the final episode of season 4...and I think we can assume that hell is not just fluffy bunnies).

So yeah, now I feel paranoid.
 
Been a long time since I posted in this thread of mine, but Im lovin all the legitamate forshadowing and the faux forshadowing that you guys are comin up with! 🙂

I dont think this one has been said before, I looked at all the posts again but really just skimmed. In Real Me, when Willow is hugging Tara she says "Your one of the good guys now" and Tara gets that look on her face, foreshadowing the fact that she is keeping a secret, that she thinks she is a demon. Which is also foreshadowed in the season 4 episode, Goodbye Iowa, when they do that spell and Tara delibrately screws it up.
In Bad Eggs, Buffy and Angel are kissing in the graveyard, the camera pans to the tombstone that sez "In Loving Memory" foreshadowing the disintigration of their relationship in Innocence.

Ofcourse everything but the cheese man is suppose to be meaningfull in Restless, I was thinkin about that a little bit the other day and this is what I came up with. In Xander's dream his father sez to him "What are you ashamed of us?" etc. In Hells Bells he leaves Anya at the alter partly because he is scared he will be a bad husband like his father.
In Storyteller when Andrew is recording Spike he is tryin to act all intimidating for the camera like in Giles dream in Restless, when he is doin all his funny poses for the camera.
I read these ones somewhere, in Buffy's dream she meets the first slayer in the desert, she is in the same desert again in Get It Done, also when Buffy thinks she wakes up in her dream she sees the first slayer chained to the celling, and again in Get It Done we learn that the shadowmen made the first slayer while chaining her to the earth.

The DVD is in my roommate's room, and he's sleeping so I can't get it, but basically during S5's "Fool for Love," there's a whole lot of foreshadowing about Buffy's death at the end of S5. Spike talking about how every Slayer has a death wish, one day it'll happen to Buffy and he'll be there, etc etc. Wish I could quote it exactly!

Oh my...that one about Buffs mother is a great observation..I never noticed that!

The ones I can think of off the bat are regarding Dawn. (Which ep I can't remember) A still-comatose Faith says, while making a bed with Buffy in Dawn's future bedroom, "Little sis coming, I know." Buffy replies, "So much to do before she gets here."

In the season four finale, "Restless," Tara warns Buffy to "be back before Dawn."

Not sure about that one - it's a bit stretched - but it's a good guess!

Doesn't someone (Wes?) say "No rest for the wicked" in Not Fade Away as well? I don't have time to look it up now, but does anyone know?

I'm sorry if this has been posted before by smarter viewers...

I finally got the weird "Little Miss Muffet" reference by Faith....

The crazy guy says to Dawn something akin to "I know you, your all Kurds and way." The end or at least part to the nursery rhyme! I guess it's not so much foreshadowing as cool detail work I at first missed. Coming from a guy that reads nursery Rhymes to my princess scoot-a -loo this is such a Duh! moment

The tie in is obvious, so much so I did not realize it till watching season five extras. I'd make a pretty lousy detective and decoder...and thats an inside joke for my Merrick heads as well as the truth.

Yes I'm aware this is a stretch and in no way foreshadowing... but the idea is rad.
 
Another Xander thing not relative to the pirate costume is that in on early episode of season where Anya kills all the frat - boys, Buffy and Xander are hunting the spider demon and Xander gets a scratch across his face, from forehead to cheek, right across the eye he eventually loses.

Its good to see I wasn't the only one thinking that about Xanders cheek getting scratched.

This popped up as my quote on here and got me thinking that this was a foreshadowing of Season 6.

Shooting each other? Warren shoots Tara
Drinking? Buffy gets drunk with Spike. Anya gets drunk with Spike.
Screwing their brains out? Buffy with Spike
Who's not crazy? Normal Again

Is this a really obvious one that I have just never noticed before?

Thats good, never thought of it either. And hey the shooting up part could even be referencing the magicrack stuff with Willow, lol.

Xander Quote from early on, foreshadowing?

I finally started buying all the seasons so I'm rewatching it all from the beginning and I noticed something funny.

Early on in BtVS, in either the episode "The Witch" or "Teacher's Pet" (pretty sure it's Witch though) Xander says something to the effect of how he'd hate to see Buffy not breathing. For the life of me, I can't remember the exact quote or find it online, but if you think to "Prophecy Girl", we all know what Xander does there.

So do you guys think this was just coincidence or purposefully thrown in by Joss and the writers?
 
Ahem....I know this isn't really forshadowing, but anyway...

The demon in " I will remember you" said something aobut the end of the days. In S7 there was an episode called "End Of Days"
 
I was watching Homecoming and got pumped to post this. After the "wash your hands" speech the Mayor gives he says "You have all my faith". The way he says it makes you feel like there is something behind it and it is obviously something the writers intended. I hadn't seen it in this thread so I was excited to add it.

im not sure, but i read that they originally wanted tara to be evil but when they saw how "awesome" the relationship between her and willow was they decided against it and made her think she was half demon.

Tara was originally intended to be evil? Really? Wow. Where did you read this? I'm curious...
 
I just watched Angel S4's "Sacrifice" (for only the second time ever, and in the dub, so bear with me if the exact wording is off)... and in the sewer scene with Gunn, Fred says "It's better to have the pain eat you up inside than to live on as a shell that is inwardly dead", which sounds like foreshadowing Hole In The World/Shells. :bluesad:
