Forever Charmed - the Series Finale (Spoilers for UK)

I kept watching up intill season 5 hoping they would fix the blatent and ovivious mistakes, after that I stopped watching regulary and only watched when they had recap days and filed in blanks wih random episodes, and I onention, ly watched when I wanted to just spend time watching TV that I didn't have to think aboout, or care about.

Although season 8 did kinda grab my attention cuz I liked the character of Billie, pkus she was really hot!!
 
i never said i disliked Charmed...i happen to like Charmed very much...just not as much As BTVS, Angel or Firefly. i've seen every episode at least twice, but i still feel that BTVS is the superior show when it comes to characterization, storylines, and continuity.
let me give you an example on the coninuity thing...

during the BTVS episode 'Superstar' Anya explains to Buffy that there are an infinite number of dimenisons that run paralelle to ours. She mentions to possiblity of having a world without shrimp, or one with nothing but shrimp. the next season, (can't remember the exact ep, but i think it might be 'Triangle' when Buffy asks Willow where she sent Olaf) Willow mentions a world without shirmp, which Tara finds interesting 'cause she's allergic. and again, in the Angel ep 'Underneath' (i think) Illyria states that she has visited countless other worlds, including one without shrimp. THAT'S continuity.

on the other side of the coin, in the last ep of Charmed, when they travelled back to get Grams, she has to be introduced to Leo, even thought it had been shown in S6 that Leo and Grams knew each other in the '60's...did the writers just forget about that?
 
Shannen Doherty wanted the show to be taken seriously and wanted it to become a darker show, which the show was slowly becoming until Season5 came along and everyone lost their mind and ability to write.

Before you gang up on me because that's how I apparently see BtVS, I have to restate that I do indeed like Buffy's series...just not as much as the critics do. Just because I give BtVS a 7/10 instead of a 10/10 it does not mean I hate the show.

Um I watch Charmed... I love it.. and I dont think it is lame.. and i havent seen anywhere someone saying you hated Btvs.. sorry if i missed that... but i havent seen anyone say that... im not ganging up on you.. i actually dont think any show is 10/10 because there is no such thing as perfect.. i mean you could rate a show 1/10 and like it.. there are people that watch shows because they are bored and there is nothing else to watch... or actually liked a show and suddenly became lame.. so i am just saying everyone is free to state their opinions and not to judge others....
 
A couple issues with the finale: (I have seen the episode but won't give out any names for those that have not seen it...like in Sydney). For those that have seen it, have fun with my finale issues!

1: What exactly was the final battle supposed to be? Was it the death of a certain person? If so, the battle should have ended with the previous episode (kill billie vol. 2) since that person had died.

2: Is it fair that the Halliwell sisters get their reward at the end of the finale when it wasn't even them that defeated the ultimate evil? Sure the evil was gone, but it wasn't them that got rid of it. Once again, that goes back to the first issue I had. The evil was gone, but one of the sisters chose to rewind time to do it all again for personal reasons. She should not have been allowed to do such things.
 
That was probably a grey area, that's why she was allowed to do it.Also the writers forget what they wrote in previous eppys.
Apart from that,why has this thread got the familar Buffy is better than charmed or vise versa..???? that is another thread! lol.

How is it "ultimate evil person" dies and the person most closely connected to ultimate evil person remains alive.
We get rid of "UEP" quickly, but it took weeks to dump the source?
 
Well you can find out the answers to those questions in almost every single post in this thread,

There is absolutly no continuity in the show, at all. The writers know no one care enough, so they don't care. (And their idiots)
 
BEG is exactly right! this is what we have been saying for WEEKS! the writers of this show don't care about coninuity, as i explained with my post above, and they just hope that their veiwers aren't smart enough, or don't care enough to question it!

Well so called expert, I just sat and watched all of season 8 and for an expert you seem to have missed something pretty damn important.

You say ultimate evil died. Bull. If you had actually watched it (even though you claim other people dont get it like you do)
Christy was NOT the ultimate evil. If you had paid attention, or you know, just watched the damn show, Christy AND Billie together were the ultimate evil. In fact, thats not even right.

Christy and Billie were the ultimate power. Not the ultimate evil. Billie was never evil. She honestly thought she was doing the right thing.

As for it not being the Charmed ones who defeated the evil, wrong
They defeated the Triad. THEY were the important evil. Christy was pretty much useless without Billie and Billie was back with the Charmed ones at that point. Christy was defeated by Billie but that doesnt mean she killed the big evil. There was no big evil to kill at that point.

Also Im disappointed. I was lead to believe
Pheobe died. I thought that meant for good. Not just a few minutes. So the end was rather anti-climactic for me.
