Hi! I didn't see any comments about the episode forever.. and i really liked that ep. my favorite part was definitely when angel arrived at night after the burial and consoled buffy. i felt really bad when when spike left the flowers with no card and that speech between dawn and buffy was brutal! i cried a lot.. so what do you think about this ep?

the part at the end with buffy and dawn made me cry! it was so sad! :cry: i loved the whole scene (and the episode!)! i cant seem to come up with any description for it beyond sad...and when buffy believes her mom is back again, and she looks so hopeful and she runs to the door, and then dawn rips the picture: so sad!!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁

I think the relationship between Dawn and Spike in Season 5 and much of Season 6 is intriguing and oddly endearing. Logical, somehow, that it would be Spike who helps her in her attempt to bring back her mother.

Anya, after her profound speech of non-comprehension of death in "The Body", offers another naive-sounding yet profound insight in her scene with Xander about the creation of children, to replace those who die.

Quite honestly, the first time I saw the last scene in the living room I was bolt upright with terror wondering what Dawn had done and who or what would appear at the door.

Recently I was reading a transcript of that final scene between Buffy and Dawn and I was surprised how emotional I got just reading the lines. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Michelle Trachtenberg play sisters perfectly in those minutes. And what is remarkable is that Buffy starts out reproving Dawn, yelling at her about the dangers of what Dawn's trying to do and why it looks like she doesn't care when she does, while Dawn wails that she's all alone in the world. But as the scene comes to its climax it's Buffy who runs to the door hoping to see Joyce, calling out "Mommy!" and Dawn who kills the spell, and who then comforts her older sister. It's brilliant.

I can't think of a more powerful depiction of losing a parent than those two episodes, "The Body" and "Forever".

It's a very sad episode. It's basically the old 'The Monkeys Paw' story, but it's done very well. The final scenes are quite chilling, with the feet walking toward the Summers door. Yikes.

I love the intro to Doc, too. There's no indication that he's anything to do with the overall story at all, yet he's basically the reason Buffy dies in the finale. Very subtle and clever.

I think the role reversal between Buffy and Dawn is just amazing. Buffy feels like she has to be the invincible one because she's the Slayer and she's older than Dawn, but she ends up breaking down and calling for Joyce.
It's deep, and I think in this episode too, you can tell that Willow and Tara have differing views on the use of magick... the word offt comes to mind... not really sure why

When Angel comes back after the funeral, I think that's exactly what Buffy needs. Everybody always says things will heal with time, and who better to back that up that a 200+ year old vampire??

Amazingly written and even more wowishly portrayed... I keep underestimating season 5 but that's two episodes in a row I've cried because of the extreme raw emotion

I always felt that there should have been some scene allowing Spike to express his sorrow to Dawn or Buffy or both. There was never any doubt in anyone's mind that he had genuine affection for all of the Summers women, but Spike's relationship with Joyce was, at that time, closer than anything he shared with either of the girls. It was obvious that Angel was there for Buffy, not from any sense of personal loss. Spike should have at least been allowed to comfort Dawn (I know that he helped her with the aborted resurrection attempt, but that was after the fact).

When dawn tried bringing back joyce I didnt really find the scene sad, i was terrified!

I loved this episode it is definatly one of my favorites but as said above one of the sadest too...

I love how Angel came back to console Buffy the night after her mom's burial.. Its one of the sweetest things anyone can do....Major Brownie points for him... plus as said above its just what Buffy needed someone to really help her through the night. I also Love the whole Dawn/Buffy ending too... It was so sad... although i would have loved to see how joyce came back.....
