Forrest...GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would just like to pop in to say please be respectful of other people's opinions. You don't have to agree with everyone, but you do need to realize that just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make their point of view stupid or wrong.

well he is! most people think so!
People love and hate for different reasons, I don't think that's ridiculous. Someone being annoying is a good reason to hate them! Do you want me to like him even though I find him annoying? THAT would be ridiculous.
You misunderstand the comment. I say it's ridiculous because hating someone JUST because they're annoying is, in fact, a ridiculous reason to hate someone. For example, I find Dawn's voice when she yells and all her crying in season 5 annoying, but, I don't hate her for it, because I understand why she would feel that way. BUT, when she starts all that crap in season 6, I hate her, not because of the fact THAT she's annoying, but WHY she's annoying and her reasons for acting that way. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?

Maybe you think it is, but that's her opinion and she's entitled to it. Please be respectful of that.
See post above.

And I didn't refer to it as stupid.

In defense of Forrest I'm gonna have to say that he may have been annoying at times bubt I think he was a good friend. Now naturally, watching Buffy the vampire slayer, we're likely to side with Buffy but imagine you had seen a friend of yours in a new relationship and suddenly their changing everything they are, everything they've believed in and turning their backs on what was. Wouldn't you have voiced your concern?

Now Riley may have changed gradually and perhaps even for the better (depends on who you ask of course) but I can see how Forrest was alarmed by his sudden back-turning on their military ways. It must have been quite startling to find that your best friend is growing into someone fundamentally different from you. And to his credit he spoke up about it, perhaps he was a bit abrasive about it at times but beating around the bush isn't for everyone.

Perhaps it's a big egotistical but who wouldn't also feel slightly wounded by a friend abandoning you for their new significant other (yes, this is a natural part of life but that doesn't make it easier while the transition is in motion).

Riley choosing Buffy over the Initiative must have been very hard for all of Riley's friends actually since he seemed to be a leader of some sort. No doubt they, even Forrest, looked up to him. And again, perhaps his change was for the better - in the viewers opinion - but I can see why the Initiative boys wouldn't agree.
Thank you. 😀😉 This is what I've been trying to say.

I understood exactly what you're saying. And I keep saying that every person hates for different reasons and you can't say that my reason is ridiculous just because you don't agree with it. I think he's annyoing BECAUSE of all the things he is, and I don't like it. When I'm saying he's annoying, it's not black and white, I have my reasons for why he's annoying, and THAT'S why I hate him. And that's what you're saying. When someone says someone is annoying, they probably have reasons for that, it's not just plain and simple. I think he's annoying -> because the things he is and does -> I hate him. It doesn't matter what my reasons are, those are my reasons. I've explained why I think he's annoying in my very first post here, and that makes me hate him.

Fine. Whatever. No reason for a hostile environment.

But you did belittle her for her opinion.
No I didn't. Or, at least, that wasn't my intention. Sorry if it came off to you and her that way.

Look, you called her ridiculous. Please treat other members with more respect in the future. End of discussion.

Like I said, not my intention to be insulting, and I apologized. I call myself and my beliefs ridiculous all the time, that doesn't mean I'm insulting them. Sorry it came off that way. Why do you seem so mad?
Dagenspear agrees: Why do you seem so mad?

I am not mad, but I don't appreciate you disregarding the comments of a staff member (HisMrs) and arguing about something that does not require an argument. Whether you intended to or not, your comments belittled Chosen Enemy. All that you needed to say, if anything, is that you would try to be more respectful of others' opinions in future, rather than arguing about whether or not the comments were disrespectful.

If you would like to discuss this further, please take it to pm.

Now, please return to the topic.

I've always hated Forrest too. Probably one of the most annoying recurring characters ever on the show. With that said, I do understand (to a degree) why he acted the way he did. He really didn't know better and, from his point of view, Buffy was intruding/stealing his best friend. Still... I wanted his ass majorly whooped. 😉

I totally agree that Forrest was annoying. He annoyed me from the beginning when he referred to Buffy as "mattressable". Really showed his opinion of women.

I never liked the initiative, which is a big reason why season 4 is so low on my list of favorites. The only reason why it's not at the bottom is because it had some REALLY good stand alone episodes.

Forrest was a college guy. That's pretty much all he would have his mind on. That line doesn't reflect his view of women. It reflects his crude way of showing interest in women.
