In the light of the tragic events at Virginia Tech this week's ep of Bones will not be shown.

FOX has opted to pull Wednesday's installment of "Bones," which apparently deals with a murder on a college campus. In its place, a repeat of "Aliens in a Spaceship" will fill the hour. It's not clear when the pulled installment ("Player Under Pressure") will air.

Ok dude dont get me wrong its tradgic about the virgina tech stuff it is very sad indeed but really why is it every time something happens things get all outta wack...

I'm so sick and tired of everyone saying t.v shows cause violence and they shouldn't be shown well ya know what.... The news is just as bad.... god i'm sick of that

yes its sad that things like this happens that innocent lives get taken it really is people should be ashamed of themselves and half of us locked away in a crazy pen but in my opinion half the times the kids themselves ask for it to happen... I mean that sounds wrong but

If kids would stop being stupid and cruel to other less fortunate kids... and everyone would sit back and either shut their mouths and not say anything at all if it aint nice or they should just accept that not everyone has the money for say Name brand clothes or maybe someone isnt' as lucky to be able to walk.. Stop making fun of the less fortunate and maybe karma wont come back around and bite you in the butt...

I know all that sounds mean and like heartless but its true. I in no way condole shootings but really kids today are to harsh and mean. No wonder they go pyscho with today's bullying and even home life... Parents not together, getting beatings from a sibling or even a parent... its a sad life we live in these days...

In lighter topics... Prayers go out to all the victims family's and even the survivors who have to live with the memory of what happened.

Lets just hope they show bones soon 🙁

I have to applaud FOX for delaying this episode of Bones. I think that now is not the right time to air this episode in regards to the tradgedy at Tech. I certainly do hope that they show it at a more appropriate time this season. Right now it is all too fresh in our minds to watch a show on tv that will continue to replay the series of events that have occured on April 16,2007 (even if it is classified as fictional), we already have enough of that with the news. As a member of the Blacksburg surrounding community, I hope that you will rethink your comment Angels Baby that "half the time the kids ask for it to happen". I dont want to start a war of words and everyone is entitiled to thier opinion, but if this gunman was "bullied" it certainly wasnt from Tech students. This young man had emotional and psychological problems that even though people tried to reach out to him and help, he was not accepting it. I dont blame tv or video games for his actions, he had a mental illness and unfortunately innocent victims had to pay the price.
 
It seems from the reports I've read that this guy was seriously disturbed and was an accident waiting to happen...it's such a shame that this couldn't have been recognised earlier and this tragedy may have been prevented. I think it was entirely respectful for Fox to have pulled this ep of Bones, given the subject...it reminded me of when we were in the US at the time of the Colombine shootings and the Buffy ep...I think it was Earshot...got pulled for similar reasons.

I'll say it again...you guys really have to consider tightening your gun control laws.
I heard on BBC news that tens of children's lives wouldn't be lost every year if all handguns sold in the US were altered so that they were on safety as their natural state...that is to say that these kids get killed accidentally from playing with guns that their parents have, which are not locked from firing...
I also saw some spokesman for the NRA coming out with the line that if Virginia Tech hadn't been a "gun free zone", obviously someone would've taken out the psycho after he had only shot 3 or 4 victims...the logic of the madhouse, surely...

I personally think this is bullshit. I don't agree with Angelsbaby101 reasoning, but I think it is entirely ludicrous that an episode of a tv show would be pulled because it in some minute entirely unrelated way deals with a murder on a college campus in the same month that some donut murdered 30-odd people.

Insane logic. Should all war films be banned until the war in Iraq is over, or until there is no more war.

I'm sorry that a group of innocent people died, but frankly people die every single fricken day, in much worse circumstances.

Oh, and the gun laws in America are a joke. People that defends the right to own a gun should be shot themselves.

How many people are murdered each year in America alone, because they have easy access to firearms?

It's a sad commentary on our society in general that we seem to prefer hearing about the negative things in life instead of the positive ones. When was the last time you saw a headline in the newspaper that read "Twenty Five Million Pit Bulldogs Didn't Bite Anyone Yesterday" or "Fifty Million Gun Owners Will Live Their Entire Lives Without Shooting Anyone"? It's all a matter of perspective, and invariably, the news media publishes the news, whether it's the truth or not. There are dozens of headlines about the crimes, injustices, and tragedies in life for every one about the good things people do for each other.

I'm not one to blame the so-called "liberal" press for all of our problems, but remember this sad fact: tragic headlines sell newspapers, and if the newspapers (or TV shows) don't sell and make money, the people who write the stories are out of a job.

I know this is depressingly terrible, but I think this you're wrong.

People are going to be murdered no matter what. Just because Americans may or may not have "easy access" to guns doesnt mean that it is going to change, because it's not.

People will always find ways around any law. To assume that people are murdered "because [others] have easy access to firearms" is unfair.

It is easier to kill with a gun that it is with a knife, or with your hands.

It is not unfair at all. Do you think that all the gun murders that happened in America last year would still have happened if those people couldn't get hold of a gun, or didn't have a gun at the time the murder took place?

I think not. It is naive to think otherwise.

Less guns= less opportunity to commit murder.
 
I think there is still just as much opportunity, whether a person has access to a gun or not. How many will act on that opportunity if it's a difficult proposition is another question. Say, if they had a choice...the easy way, with a gun, or the hard way, without....would a murderer stop and think? Some might go right ahead, no matter what it takes. I do think our gun-control laws are too lax. They stem from our "right to bear arms in defense of life and liberty." Defense being the supposedly operative word. These days, guns are used more offensively than anything. I also think that the use of a gun dehumanizes the victim. The shooter is standing behind a "shield" of sorts, using a machine that launches a high-velocity projectile. It's not up close and personal. That personal factor might stop a person from committing murder, but again....might not.

thats absolutley untrue. just because someone doesnt have a gun doesnt mean they cant murder someone.

... Anyway...

I don't think it's about censorship or fear of emulation or anything, it seems to me more like a mark of respect. Like wearing a black armband or a ribbon. It's an acknowledgement of an event that will obviously still be fresh in the audience's mind.

Oh and I don't think people are idiotic so much as ignorant to some facts. I'm just saying something like 29,000 Americans die every year due to gun violence, 10 times as many people who died in Sept 11.

You can find these statistics all over the place. Other western countries statistics look more like 100... or 300 people a year.

So yeah, let's watch America do nothing after yet another mass shooting, because it's really working for you.
 
And what do you purpose we do? Ban guns? Right, because Americans are just going to sit back and allow that...
