Fox to not air Ep 13 of Dollhouse

I have a slightly more pessimistic view.
My feeling is that episode 12 ties things up nicely while episode 13 leaves things hanging...and if Fox already knows they probably won't renew Dollhouse for S2, it makes sense to get rid of the cliffhanger ep.
But, who knows. *heavy sigh*
 
Ooh, I wanna see this (assuming this is legit).


UPDATE, 3:38 p.m.: Spoiler alert! Just snagged ya'll some exclusive new info on "Epitaph One." A source whispers to me that "Epitaph One" comes from the writerly brains of Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. It's a totally non-finale-ish stand-alone episode, and"”here's the crazy part"”it's apparently set in the future, after the apocalypse, amidst total anarchy. And yes, I am describing an episode of Dollhouse, not a scene from Terminator. No word yet on where, when or how we might be able to see it if not on Fox, but just off the top of my head, Hulu, DVD/Blu-Ray and/or a special Comic-Con screening all come to mind. What sounds good to you?

^ Wait, what? They're skipping into the future? Is it a dream or something, cause that doesn't seem to fit the show (unless they do something outrageous in the next few eps.)
 
Well, if it's a stand-alone episode, I understand that it will be DVD-exclusive. If it is, however, the finale, I will be pissed.

Yeah, it is a mess, but it is actually mess that Whedon himself caused. As far as I remember, I have not kept eye on Dollhouse as it will probably never air here anyways, it was his own decision to make new pilot. And from other posts it is clear that it is stand-alone episode which would be bad as season finale. Actually interesting question in this would be can it take place BEFORE the finale. If it can't (uses character that dies/disappears/coma/brainwashed/etc in finale or has references about finale) then FOX has much better stand on it than might seem first for diehard fans.

Another issue for FOX possibly is that they have set number of weeks for the show and based on reshoot of pilot they had 12 weeks for the show. Another show already planned on time slot 13th episode would been shown. I do not know how far ahead networks plan.
 
Will there be a film made?
I'm not to surprised the series didn't continue, all the reports I heard about it made it sound like several other TV shows.
At least with Buffy or Angel a new view was used.

What has Joss got planned?

i just died inside, i don't care whose fault it is, i'm just pissed. what are they gonna air instead? some shitty reality show?

Some go on about there not being a 13th episode, some go on about a 2nd season.
If you are trying to confuse people, you are doing a bang up job, well done!.

The truth behind a Dollhouse rumor circling the Internet is about as complicated as, well. Adelle DeWitt's appointment book.

The alarmist buzz is that fans of Joss Whedon's latest series are being deprived of seeing one of this season's episodes. Perhaps, the rumor goes, they won't even be getting the proper season finale.

The reality: Fox ordered 13 hours from Joss. The original pilot got scrapped, leaving a dozen to air. And all 12, including the legit season finale, which is titled "Omega," will be broadcast as planned.

So where is the hubbub coming from? Sources tell TVGuide.com that Dollhouse producer 20th Century Fox Television elected to script and shoot a 14th episode, on their own dime "” perhaps to flesh out a DVD package, some speculate. Fox, though, at no point agreed to air that episode, titled "Epitaph One." Our insider further says that the fact that Fox took that stance should not be seen as a sign that the network has already made a decision about a Season 2 pick-up for Dollhouse, which has been battling so-so ratings.

"Epitaph One" is a standalone hour, and has no impact on the overarching Alpha storyline that reaches a boil "” and launches several juicy new plot directions "” in the May 8 finale.
