One of the biggest sitcoms in history and surely the most successful spin-off is returning to Paramount's streaming service.

So far only the lead is confirmed to return. You would think at least Niles has to comeback. The actress who played Daphne is locked into another show so might be tricky getting her back.

Thoughts on this? Are Fans of the show excited? Can it succeed? Will we get a cameo from Laura Linney who played Fraiser's girlfriend at the end of the original show?

As a huge fan of the original series, I am cautiously excited but prepared for the worst. It's how I was with Will & Grace a few years back and that wound up being just as funny and wonderful as it had been the first go-round, so maybe I'll get lucky. I would honestly be fine with it if it was just Frasier, living in a new city, and then maybe the occasional cameo from Niles and Daphne, maybe Roz and a now grown Alice, I definitely won't expect everyone but Martin to be back as main cast along with Kelsey.

I believe that he is the only original actor returning. None of the others are coming back.

Grammer's the only one confirmed. I would be surprised if DHP doesn't return. Not sure the actress who played Roz is doing much these days. If I had to guess she will return even if only in a smaller role.

I loved the original series but I'm not sure about this. I like KG and maybe see some writing potential portraying Frasier at a different time in his life.
But bear in mind that this will be the character's third outing after Cheers and Frasier, I'm not sure he has more comic material to be mined there.

I will say, it was tough enough in the original show to see an aging Frasier constantly unlucky in love, so the only thing I may not enjoy about a new one, is if he's still a bachelor in his 70s trying to find love. Like, give the poor man a break, don't make him some lonely creeper just to get a show out of it.

Unless they bring Laura Linney back who played his girlfriend at the end of the original series. It might just be a cameo, but could be enough. Then again part of the appeal of the show might be him being single and looking for love.

I'm thinking there could be potential exploring the dynamic between Frasier and his son. However, I loved the last show, so I won't get my expectations too high. It would be a hard act to follow.

Channel 4 show the original series often at the weekends. Bit of luck they will do a full run through in the run up to the new show. Been years since I've watched it properly.
