What do think? Should Joss do a Fray movie?

Should it be animated or live action?

Would you rather see it than Spike, or Serenity 2? I know I'd rather see it than Wonder Woman? 🙂

How would you cast it?

Dont know much about Fray as I never read it. Would do if I could find it!

I would most definately go see it! But I'd prefer a Spike movie. Even though I think we've seeen enough of Spikes character I'd rather see a movie about someone I'm familiar with from the verse rather than someone who I'm not. I aint seen Serenity and still havent finished watching my firefly dvd so no comment for whether I'd rather see it than serenity 2. Although I think I'd rather see a buffy related movie than firefly, as I prefer buffy.

Animated would be interesting. They could do it just like the comic but I think a 'real' film would appeal to a wider audience as some people dont like animated stuff.

Not sure who I'd cast as fray. Rachel Bilson? shes hot! lol.

I would love to see a Fray movie, way more then a Spike one. I think it would be better in Live action, it would just look so much cooler! I am not sure of who to put in it, but maybe Rachel Bilson? She could look quite similar to Fray, and could play the right age, then is obviously good looking, which is usually important in Hollywood!

Fray needs to look like she's late teens, I guess? I can't remember exactly how old she's supposed to be.

I actually think that Eliza D. would have been perfect as Fray, if it were a few years ago. Maybe she could still work...Eliza's a year older than that Rachel Bilson person...

Summer Glau has the physicality, but...Fray's personality, I dunno...Actually, the character Ana Lucia from Lost reminds me of Fray a little bit. But again, I think Michelle Rodriguez is just too old.

I think it could be done like Sky Captain...everything's green screen but the actors. It would be a challenge to make it seem a lot different than Blade Runner, visually. But, stripped down color like Sky Captain, or even Sin City would be super cool, I think.

I agree with Black Eye Guy, I'd love a Fray movie and I'd rather have that than a Spike one, definitely. I have no idea who I'd want to see as Fray though, but I wouldn't want an animated movie, that I know, mhm..

I would have gone with Eliza had she not been Faith..

I could actually see Michelle Rodriguez as Fray, and she doesn't look too old in my opinion.. But that might just be me 😉

Michelle Rodriguez Would actually be pretty good, she has done roles in films that you would kinda associate with Fray.
I am not sure if I would like it to be done like Sky Captain, cuz I personally thought it looked terrible!

OK you guys, Michelle Rodriguez it is, heh.

And I love the look of Sky Captain! lol. Although, sometimes it's so dark, you can't even tell what's going on. Maybe it would seem too retro, not sure.

Actually, the palette in the Fray comics is interesting. Browns and maroons, and teals and soupy greens. A weird, quirky mix. It would be complete overkill on film, just too much...but I like it on the printed page.

Another thing that could be cool is the look of the vamps. In the comic, they're sort of a purplish-gray color, and their faces aren't all crinkled up. And they have freaky, glowing green eyes. And when they're dusted, it's glowing green too...

I would love a different vampire look than the TV shows.

There's some really good pics on that site. I snagged some of their wallpaper. Thanks.
I'd love to see a Fray movie, but personally, I'm more in favour of a Spike-movie, simply because there's only a limited amount of time left to do that, while you can still do Fray in say 10-15 years. (Although "momentum" is a different question.)

Serenity 2 would be nice, but I'm not overtly excited about that idea.

On the note of casting... I think maybe Alexis Bledel could pull off Mel... I think her physique closer ressembles Mel's... certainly much more so than Rachel Bilson, Ana Lucia, or Michelle Rodriguez.

That's right. Alexis was a tough girl in Sin City.
Sorry, but that nose is not sharp enough and those lips are too big. I don't want to get into racial stereotyping here or anything... I don't think Mel's a latino/hispanic (is there a difference?), so I don't think they should cast one.

I get your point. Mel's sister is after all blond. :)
i think Fray would be great as a movie and i would prefer it be live-action. as for casting... is Jessica Alba too girly, ya think? Bridget Moynahan? er.. she's kinda girly too.. OH! I GOT IT!: Shannyn Sossamon. she's pretty, and can be edgy or sensitive too. how bout it?

What about the supporting characters, like Vincent Kartheiser (sp) for Harth, Arnold Swarznegger, or Ving Rhames for Urkon - that sort of thing.
