So, I know there's this running joke with Team Angel that no one ever seems to know what Fred's talking about when she talks about science. My question is; does anyone actually recognize what she is talking about? And, if she is not using correct references, did the writers just assume the audience wouldn't know? I know jack-squat about physics, so I'm curious what people's thoughts on this are.
 
I'd be suprised if they didn't do some kind of research and just wrote random smart sounding gibberish, but I am also a laymen. I have no idea about physics talk.
 
I honestly cannot remember what she said specifically, so if you have some quotes i'd love to translate them lol... I do remember on a few occasions shouting at the screen... "thats wrong!!!" so I know the writers were less than diligent on many occasions... A lot of it was jibberish, but mainly because she was talking about sci-fi demon physics if that makes sense. But I also remember being very impressed... Physics is without a doubt my favourite subject, and I remember on one occasion she did mention dimensions and lagrangian mechanics, I was blown away lol!
 
I get some of it but not all of it, so I can't really say... Besides, last time I watched Angel, I knew a lot less about physics than I do now, since I've now been introduced to quantum physics (among other...).
 
She does make sense. I remember, when she had written her article and was scheduled to hold that lecture about it, I know that was string theory, which is a real thing. The stuff she said about it also made sense, as far as I could.
Honestly, I think anyone who's seen Star Trek or something similar should be able to get at least a piture of what she's saying.
 
I know she has that stuffed animal . . . was it a bunny? That she calls Feigenbaum and she also refers to him as "The Master of Chaos." Feigenbaum was a real dude that pioneered the chaos theory. That is the extent of my knowing though.
I like to think that the writers took the time to make her accurate.
 
yeah, she does make sense. although, there's always some demon science and dimensions mixed in with her real physics/math talk haha.
 
I think the writers went to efforts to make sure it made some sense, but they aren't physics themselves, so they probably mess it up now and then. In any case, it isn't complete jibberish.

And yes, I am lame enough to know her science talk of by heart...not that I understand it at all lol.
 
hmm.. it does make sense, but not everythings is possible... so in fact it doesnt make sense.
 
I actually do. My friend is a big science and math nerd just like her. I also can understand what people are talking about when they are not speaking English. It is pretty funny.
