I find Wes and Fred's relationship very unhealthy and disturbing.
Wes views Fred in an idealized manner. And because of his unstable nature, he is obssessive of her.
Fred also views romance in an unhealthy manner. Every man she has been involved with, she views him as a knight-in-shining-armor. Her reasons for jumping into a romance with Wes is ludicrous. She's interested because she's flattered by his continuing love for her, not realizing that his feelings are dangerous.
His actions in "Lineage" should have warned Fred that his feelings for her are dangerous. I mean, he did shot whom he thought was his father, nine times. But she excused it on the ground that Roger was a cyborg. Stupid woman.
This is a very unhealthy relationship that should go nowhere. Both parties harbor immature ideas of love and idealized views of each other. If this ends well, I'll be very surprised.
