I've read quite a few threads on this forum but never once have I seen anyone who was a fan of the Fred/Gunn relationship, I'm thinking because people think Fred belongs with Wesley more. Are there any Fred/Gunn fans out there?

While I was watching Angel for the first time, I hated Fred and Gunn together, since I was totally rooting for Wesley. But, after rewatching and looking back on it, I've realized they were very cute together and were a semi-realistic couple (I say "semi" because Fred seems like she'd go for someone who was more brains than brawn, but overall, their interactions were very believable.) So overall, yeah, I like Fred/Gunn a lot. I just like Fred/Wesley way more. It's similar to the way I feel about Willow/Oz and Willow/Tara (but I'll stop now before I start to digress.)

I liked Fred with Gunn for as long as it lasted, but it lasted about as long as it could have without getting really lame. I mean, really, 90% of their conversations revolved around how impressed Gunn was by how much Fred could eat for breakfast! It might have worked out better after Gunn got the brain boost from W&H, but by that time, Fred and Wesley were well on their way to being an established "thing."

As soon as Fred appeared on the scene and joined the gang I thought right away, Fred and Wesley would make a perfect couple, I'm a Fresley fan.... But I still liked Fred and Gunn together, they were cute, and an unexpected coupling.

Yes. But they don´t seem to be here at the moment. But I know we have a few. I´m not one of them though. Not that I think they are a very bad couple or anything but I´m a Fresley shipper so...
Gunn is my least favorite character so I didn't like him with the girl who was suppose to be with Wesley (my favorite character). To me the only thing that made the relationship interesting is because it was a triangle. And the sad thing is the outsider was more interesting than the relationship.

Well, I'm weird. At first I was kind of hoping for some sort of Fred/Angel deal. (Yes, I *AM* Bangel all the way, be quiet 😛) Then I was hoping for Fred/Wesley. But Fred/Gunn happened instead. And I thought they were adorable and loved them, while at the same time wanting so bad for Fred and Wesley to get together. Of course, I was about ready smack a really thick book over Wesley's head when he seemed so dense to Fred's trying to get him to instigate a relationship. 😉
So basically, Fresley's my favourite, but I would have been happy with any of the above. 😉

Nah, I liked Fred & Gunn much better, than Fred & Wesley. They were so cute together, I first believed that she would end up with Wesley, but she got Gunn instead, I like the pairing.

The Fred/Gunn relationship was kind like Bangel but more to the extent of realistically we knew it wasn't going to last. To begin with they were two different people and as each of their characters progressed I think they both realized that.

The Fred/Gunn relationship was one of the most contrived on the show. Not only do I hate the character of Fred and feel she added nothing to the show beyond being a love interest, but her and Gunn had NO chemistry, and I never believed for a second that those two were attracted to each other. And I hate to sound cynical, but I don't think their relationship was anything more than a chance for the writers to go "Look! We have a mixed race couple on our show!"

Worst thing on Angel so far, crammed in just for blatant "political correctness".
Giving such lame love lines to the worst actor of the bunch (come on, we all know Gunn was miscast) doesn't help either.
At this point Angel, as a serie, seems REALLY far away from the quality of Buffy.

First off I LOVE the name!
Second, I do like Fred and Gunn.
It's hard to say why.
Maybe it's because from the get go Gunn was supposed to be this big, kick butt, no fear guy who we got to see turn to mush over his sister and even Cordy a couple of times.
And then in contrast, Fred was this meek little waif of a thing who secretly was tough as nails and able to kick butt.
I thought they were really adorable!

I think that Charles and Fred really could have been awesome as a couple if Whedon had allowed their relationship to develop, following the Professor Siedel debacle. Instead, they broke up and in the following season, Whedon stuck Fred in that disturbing relationship with Wesley that came off to me as part treacle, part incest.

I never bought him in that role (and wouldn't in any other I fear). They guy just can't act, imho, and that's bad when you have to deliver such lines...
Welcome to BB!!! And, I absolutely HATED Funn! Like you said, it was so boring and forced. In real life, there's no way she would've picked Gunn over Wes. This is one ship in the Whedonverse that I wasn't sad AT ALL about when they broke up.
EDIT: ^ Yeah, it's hard to get over the badness of J. August Richards' acting. It's also really hard to see him being a badass fighter that can beat two vampires by himself, when he doesn't really look to strong...
But I can get over it!
