Fred vs. Illyria

I voted for Fred. I really loved her since I first "met" her in Pylea, with all her long insane lines with mathematic terms that no one (at least not me) understood.

But Illyria is great to, but I think that she was in the show to little to be better than Fred in my eyes. But I really think it's an interesting character. Amy Acker really did a great job, especially when she switches back and forth between Fred and Illyria.
 
Illyria!

I liked Fred, but she always annoyed me, especially in series 3. And she always seemed to clever to me, for someone trapped in another dimension for so long. She got better in series 5 and I loved her relationship with Spike but Illyria was the best! First of all there's the look, hotter than Faith? I'm in two minds still (hard to tell after only a few episodes). She was really funny too, like in the Conner scene (this one lusts after me or something). And Illyria was the first main character to be from (really) ancient times giving scope into things we hadnt known about before. Kind of like Anya but much more. So althought I did like Fred's character, it was time to move it on, and to me Illyria was the perfect way to do it.
 
I voted for fred cause I really liked her character from the start, Fred was innocent and caring and thinks the whole world was all nice but over time we see fred getting more and more intresting and than they killed her which i did not get but i like Illyria also Amy played both parts really well... but i liked Fred more.
 
illyria. I loved Fred but she was in it for ages and they never really did anything with her. Everyone else seemed to get a major personality transplant for one reason or another at some point, except Fred. Illyria was so different and funny.
 
I definitely picked Illyria.

But I do appreciate the fact that Fred left some part of her to sort of tame Illyria. Otherwise, it might not have worked out so well.

I think though, that all the credit o course goes to Amy Acker! She is an amazing actor, to move from playing Fred Burkel to Illyria. It was awesome.
 
Well it was a close call- Illyria is brave, determined and strong- and when it came down to it she made the crucial switch to the good side. I was also touched at the way she said goodbye to Wesley before he died- she showed real character development.
But on the other hand, Fred was sweet, beautiful and intelligent- she always found a reason to smile and... well- she makes dorks cool!!
So in the end I had to go with Fred- she's a really inspiring character- why couldn't she stay??
And KarrinMurphy, by the way, I think you have a beautiful idea- I hadn't considered any part of Fred survuving before but I know I'll be seeing Illyria differently now- not just a shell after all??
 
I voted Illyria.....she was just sooooooooooo cool. That's my only reason, hee hee.
 
Well...Fred was my fav character in Angel so i'm gonna have to go with Fred! I grew to like Illyria over time cos...well Amy Acker was still there! and I think Amy Acker is a really interesting actress, and i saw in another forum that she is gonna be in the texas chainsaw massacre movie? if that's the case that would be awesome...sorry for going off topic...ok yes i picked Fred over Illyria!
 
Illyria was great! She rocked. I did like Fred while she was on the show, but Illyria amused me way too much!
 
I gotta go with Fred. At first I was a bit surprised with how totally crazy she was, I thought she'd act more like "normal" shy people do, lol.. (But how could I expect that? Should have known Joss doesn't create regular stereotype characters by now, shouldn't I?)
Anyways, Fred turned out to be a really unusual character, and it took me a while to figure out exactly what about her to love... But now I do, I love Fred, she is an amazing character. Illyria is too, in ways, she is definitely interesting but we know Fred so much better and well, I tend to go more for the shy ones... (Except for when it comes to Faith but that's a whole different story.)
 
I don't give my vote, because they are both amazing. Different ways only. Illyria's cool, but I still like Fred. I just can't choose.
 
I voted Illyria but it was very close. I loved Freds quirkyness and her relationship with Wesley but I loved Illyria too because she was arrogant and all this but by the end she fell truly in love with Wes
