I prefer Fred with Gunn too 🙂
As much as I enjoyed Wesley/Fred in season 5, in a way Wesley never feels like himself when he's with Fred and I think that takes away from some of my enjoyment of the relationship.
It seems like Wesley is always trying to be better than he is for Fred, which is sweet but it isn't being true to what his character has gone through. I think that Fred and Gunn had a much cleaner relationship with each other 🙂
However I love both ships!

Fred and Gunn for me. They click. Also their ship name is; Funn 😀
 
Fred and Gunn were fantastic. It was obvious that the writers always planned for Wesley and Fred to end up together, but they were wrong ... so very wrong. We're supposed to feel sorry for Wes, when Fred picks Gunn. Bah!
 
I think Wesley and Fred had a fantastic story, and I wanted them together all along. The twist that they end up with only one day before Fred's death broke my heart. I never found Gunn very interesting. For me he was just always kinda there.
 
I much prefer Fred with Gunn then with Wesley. Fred and Wesley is such an obvious pairing it doesn't hold much interest for me.
 
I want to be in a relationship with a guy like Gunn... And I'd like to be like Fred. Watching them together makes me think "Yes, that's perfect." A big tough guy to watch me eat.

But I have a soft spot for Wes. He has such a tragic character arc and I wish he could have been happy for longer. Why did Illyria happen?!
 
I love Wes, but I've always shipped Gunn and Fred. They're adorable!
 
I have no problem with Fred with Gunn or Wes. The only issue I had with it was the idealisation of her as a object to be won - that's how it came across in the silly love triangle. I thought Wes seemed like the more obvious choice, and their short relationship was beautifully tragic, and the subsequent Illyria and Wesley scenes were devastating. But there's something about Fred and Gunn that is just so refreshing. It also makes him look more proportioned and less of a 6 ft 3 giant. 😀 I like the fact that there was very little reference to it being an interracial relationship either. It's just normal.
