Fred?

Yes. It was explained in Shells, that when Fred died and Illyria came form, it "burned" up Fred's soul. 🙁

Yes. Her soul was basically destroyed, so there was nothing to go to heaven or hell.

Of course, there is a possibility that she could still be around. The show stated that her soul was "consumed," and that may mean that it was basically absorbed by Illyria. If so, then part of Fred may still "live" on inside Illyria.

OK, playing devil's advocate, but if Illyria burned up Fred's soul then how could any part of Fred (her memories) remain. Wouldnt they die with her? Personally I think that a small part of Fred remains, and that will be her redemption.
 
Anyone else get the feeling that Wesley is "playing along" with Illyria in an attempt to find a way to bring Fred Back?

Seems strange that he would so easily volenteer his help to a being that recently killed his beloved. ::mmm::
 
No, he is just a man in love. He wants to know HOW much of the woman he loves :: inlove is left, and he mornfully admits that he is helping IT because it looks like Fred.

In the Buffyverse, there are other ways of bringing her back, even if her soul is completely destroyed. Amy Acker could guest-star in dreams 😀 . As for real Fred, I think she's gone forever, but you can never know.
 
I've got a little theory running around in my head.

OK, Illyria can control time right. Well, I'm thinking that she is going to become emotionally attached to Wes, eventually feel bad about killing Fred and turn back time to before she (Illyria) woke up.

What d'you think?
 
That's great, Raine... I've never thought of that before... I don't believe she's gonna be emotionally attached to Wes, though. Maybe she feels all the pain that he's feeling from his grief over Fred, so the pain is just killing her and so she then goes back in time and so on and so forth.
 
I don;t like to think Freds gone. And if there isn;t a way to bring her back, i'll think of a way to bring her back! Poor Wes!
 
I voted "Yes" Fred is gone forever (Illyria fan here), but just for the heck of it let's list how it would be possible by Buffyverse rules to bring Fred back.

1. A Fred dream a la Bufy/Faith.

2. A flashback a la Darla.

3. A mystic spell a la Darla (I'm not sure this applies).

4. An alternate reality a la Connor.

5. A reimbuing of soul a la Angel/Angelus (but according to the doctor, Fred's soul is burned in the "fire of ressurrection").

6. A reversal of time. Illyria doesn't seem to be able to reverse or loop time, she only seems to be able to slow little pockets. I'm thinking more something like what happens in I Will Remember you.

7. The return of The First.
 
They have to bring Fred Back. They just have to. Shes my 2nd Favorite Charactor. it's back Enough that they killed Cordy. But I agree, if fred was totally gone, her memories would be to wouldn't it? But I guess we won't know what will happen in 5 weeks.
