I totally agree. Fred will be back without a doubt (I hope ::crying:: ). Especially with the series potentially ending, I don't think Joss would let her just die. Fred's death in my opinion was the most brutal. Her soul being destroyed and all, that's not really full of the fun. I know Joss say's he doesn't like happy endings, but in Fred's case, I've got a feeling that there's going to be an exception.

This whole situation is so depressing. Wes and Fred finally confess their true feelings for each other. When they finally do, BAM - their whole relationship is destroyed. I think there's a possibility of her coming back, and I'm starting to agree with what Raine said about Illyria feeling bad and going back in time. Then again, as Raine said, Joss says he doesn't like happy endings. Maybe this Fred/Wes thing won't end happy as Buffy/Angel didn't.

I KNOW! It's a classic television manouver. The audience finally get's what they want, then right away, everything get's complicated.

A perfect example of this would be on Alias! (Spoilers for those who have not seen the second season) When Vaughn and Sydney finally start a romantic relationship, what happens? Syd dissapears for 2 years and Vaughn gets married, AHHHHHH! Sometimes I love and hate t.v. at the same time ::crying:: !

I feel she won't be back. What really got me thinking that wasn't how many times they said she was gone...but the little Fred montage at the end of the eppy (where she left Texas). I don't know why but that just seemed so un-Joss-like.

I hope she is back though...but I just don't think she will be. Prove me wrong Joss!

I'm not sure where they're going with Illyria, but I don't think it's going to be resolved with a "I love breaky crayon Fred and scary blue Fred" speech from Wes. Judging from the tidbits that we know so far (Illyria has Fred's memories, she's bummed 'cause her temple and her minions are all gone, Wes will help her 'cause she looks like Fred) I suspect we'll kinda-sorta get Fred back in the sense that Wes is going to teach Illyria to be more Fred-ish, like Professor Higgins and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. This would set up Illyria as the new Cordy/Anya "speak her mind at all times" character (that Illyria...she's "newly human and strangely literal").

Then again, that's an obvious extrapolation of the final Wes/Illyria scene in Shells and therefore probably not where those devious plot-twisters at M.E. are taking us. Maybe she's going to hook up with Spike and spawn a race of wise-cracking blue haired soccer hooligans bent on world domination.

Yeah...I disagree with the fact that because they said she was gone so much that she's really gone, but rather it seems as if they'd bring her back solely because they said it too much. Ah well...Joss might do something crazy that no one thought of.

Hmm... I know it seems like Fred is gone, but part of me thinks she'll return, but maybe it's just hope, really. I just hope that maybe Illyria knows something, or a way she might be able to get Fred back, but I know she probably doesn't. I just don't want Fred and Wesley to be over. They were only together a week before... before... "crying" before they killed her off!
