This isn't exactly in the Buffyverse, but I thought I'd mention that Sarah Michelle Gellar's hubby, Freddie Prinze Jr., stars in a new comedy on ABC titled Freddie. He's an executive producer of the show, and it draws quite a bit from his own personal experience growing up in a household of women (an apartment full of female family members is one of the settings of the show, women make up most of the cast). He plays a restaurant owner and chef. Once again he is drawing from his own life-he loves cooking and is great at it. Here's a link to the ABC page for the show:

The cooking matter is funny. Sarah Michelle Gellar did an interview on Late Night with David Letterman almost a year and a half ago, just before her movie The Grudge came out. She told him that she's totally hopeless in the kitchen, can't cook anything. When she was doing the movie, she was staying at an apartment in Tokyo. The day before she wrapped up her part she was trying to warm up something to eat on a stove and she set the kitchen on fire. She was able to put it out with a fire extinguisher (in spite of the instructions being written in Japanese!) Following that episode, the Japanese government canceled her visa. By then it didn't matter, she was about to leave anyway. So in their marriage it's logical that Freddie would do the cooking (I guess that is when they can be together) and he told David Letterman he does so indeed, in his own appearance on the show almost a year after SMG's. Not that SMG looks like she eats much of anyone's cooking...
Freddie got a not-so-good preview from TV Guide last September, but it's been doing pretty well in the ratings, and it got an order for episodes for the whole '05-'06 TV season. I think it's an okay show (I'm not much into sitcoms myself). Freddie Prinze Jr. comes off as a very likable guy, there's definitely a buddy kind of charisma about him. I say more power to him, furthering his own success in Hollywood. He has said he'd like his wife to guest star on the show at some point, but not this season-could be next season. So it may be in a guest spot on an ABC sitcom next year that we see Sarah Michelle Gellar return to series TV for the first time since Buffy.
