I'm confused.
I don't know why...but for some reason in "Power Play" when Angel says that he used Fred's death to his advantage...
Was it that he chose the world over Fred that worked to his advantage...like that showed the Black Thorn that he would be able to sacrifice someone close to him for evil?
I just don't get the whole thing, if someone could explain it to me that would be great and ease my mind.
Here's how I see it:
Illyria was destined to rise again.
Knox decided that Fred should be Illyria's host
Knox set the events in motion.
Gun released the cell from customs
Fred was infected.
Spike and Angel went to the Deeper Well
Spike and Angel knew they couldn't sacrifice thousands of people for one life, even Fred's.
Not sure how that makes Angel think he's a more trusting candidate for the Black Thorn. I'm sure I'm missing something.
