Free Agents

Apparently ASH is going to grace our tv screens again in this new comedy. Looks like fun. I love Hank Azaria. I can't wait to see ASH again.

I wonder if I'll start calling his character 'Giles'? 😱

I watched a couple of episodes of the original version of this just because ASH was in it.

It was terrible. I won't be watching the remake...

I think there was a thread about this when the pilot first got picked up.

I can't wait to see ASH on American television again. He hinted in a recent interview, as well, that because David Greenwalt's "Grimm" is also on NBC he would be allowed to have a guest role in that show, so I'm hoping for that too.

I agree, the British version was terrible. But I watched all six eps because ASH was in it. 🙂

I'm assuming that the American version will be considerably toned down from the vulgarity of the British version. You just can't say stuff like that on American prime time network television.

I just watched the trailer for this. I guess it doesn't look THAT bad... I don't see how this will last very long, it looks more like a movie to me. Oh well, I hope it does well for ASH's sake. 🙂

I just downloaded the British series, but I haven't watched it yet. It's a pity to hear that no one liked it, but I'll watch it anyway just for ASH. XD

I wonder if the American version will be better though? It seems that when America does a remake of another country's TV show it's either much worse (Being Human) or better (Wilfred). Not that I ever watched the original Wilfred. I just heard it was much more vulgar and that isn't always my thing.

If you dislike vulgar, you'll hate the British version of Free Agents. But Anthony is really good in it.

For some reason I kept thinking he was in Prime suspect but I will try and give this a go for him.
There are so many shows coming this season and so many stars.

Its funny as hell to me cause I saw the commercial one time...well I heard it while doing something and could of sworn I heard ASH talking and when I looked at the screen all I got to see was that other actor or main guy and thought I was going crazy for hearing ASH but I guess I was right 😀

Well, I've watched 5/6 episodes so far and I love it. I guess it's my kind of vulgarity. xD The worst part about it is ASH's character, as he is the most vulgar. At first, at least. But then he grew on me. I wish it hadn't been cancelled. I'm totally loving it. 😀

I should probably rewatch it. It's been a while since I watched it.

It is entirely possible that it's just not your cup of tea, though. I did exaggerate when I said that vulgar wasn't my thing... I find comedy about bestiality and necrophilia to be amusing... (Doug Anthony Allstars anyone? 😀) So the fact I like it is probably not a good indicator of its actual quality. 😉

I have to admit that I find the c-word to be very grating, and Anthony's character uses it pretty much in every sentence. 🙂 I'm really looking forward to Wednesday, when the American version premieres. Will you be able to see it, or do you have to wait until whenever it airs there?

I'll probably have to download the series. There's no telling when it might come to Australia, if it comes at all.

Yeah, I used to find the c-word grating too, until I started driving... I can get very colourfully vocal when people cut me off. 😱

I watched the pilot, having never watched the british version. What amused me the most was the mention of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Not my ASH's character though if you hoped for that. I might watch one or two episodes more but I could very easily be without the show. There's much better and entertaining shows to watch in my opinion. But one episode might not do the show justice.

It isn't a show I would ordinarily watch (actually I don't really watch much of anything other than old shows on DVD), but I could watch Anthony Stewart Head read the phone book, so I'll stay tuned in. 🙂

Aww, I can't believe I missed it! The premiere is available on Hulu though, so I'll catch it there. And if the British version overused the c-word, then I'll probably skip that, can't stand that!

I definitely prefer the British version so far. It sounds stupid but it felt odd without c*** and f*** said every couple of minutes. And maybe it's just because I saw the British version first, but it was strange that it was exactly the same script as the first episode of the UK version with a few changes and minus the swearing and sexual innuendos.

Plus, it seems to me that ASH's character was barely in it. And they left out that scene in the British version where he licks the window which was disappointing. xD
