Free Agents

"Free Agents" was an extremely raunchy, 6-episode British show about an advertising agency owned by Stephen Caudwell (played by Anthony Head), and an affair between two of his reps (played by Stephen Mangan and I don't recall the woman's name). Head's character was a sex-addict who peppered all of his conversation with vulgar language. It's reasonably funny. I'm sure NBC will tone down the vulgarity. The British show is available on Amazon UK, but only in Region 2 - PAL format. If you are dying to see it you can reconfigure the optical drive on your computer to play Region 2. There's a limit on how many times you can change the region coding on your optical drive. I have one optical drive permanently set on Region 2 so I can view stuff Anthony is in that's not available in Region 1. (There's quite a bit of that.)

Anthony said in an interview that he's only signed on for the pilot, but might be asked to do more eps after the pilot - I sure hope so! He posted on Twitter that he was grateful to the Merlin folks for rearranging his shooting schedule to accommodate the pilot filming.

If you've ever seen the .gif of Anthony licking a window, it's from Free Agents.

Well, it sure sounds like fun!

I hate to admit that I haven't seen Merlin either. The Merlin issue is confusing for me, because he's on the BBC show, right? Syfy has one now, too.

The BBC and Syfy Merlin shows are the same. The show is made in England and airs there first, and then airs in the U.S. a while later. Both networks (BBC and Syfy) have now shown series 1, 2, and 3; and they are filming series 4 right now. Series 4 should air starting in September in England (and probably be available on-line too); and I'm not sure when it will air in the U.S. Each season has been 13 episodes. (Seasons are generally shorter in the UK than they are in the U.S., I gather.)

You should check it out. Not only is Anthony fabulous in it, but it's also just a really entertaining and VERY well made show.

I'm sure it's available to watch on-line, if that's how you want to watch it.

Also it gets better each season.

Excellent! Let me know how you like it. I think you'll find that the acting, writing, special effects, and production values are all outstanding.
