Free Buffy Books (Sort of).... And other books too

I'm a member of http://www.paperbackswap.com. I love it.

The way it works is that you list books you don't want. If someone wants it, you mail it to them, and you get a credit. With a credit, you can get an available book.

I listed a bunch of true crime that my dad gave me. I really don't like true crime, so I've got some Buffy books, some Buddhist, cooking, history, and humor books. I've made about 10 trades, and all has gone well. Sometimes I'm surprised and get a hardback book.

It costs about $2.00 to mail a book, so figure each book you get will cost $2.00. There are about 80 Buffy books currently available. I didn't check Angel.

If you decide to sign up, do a search because you might find an offer than gives you a couple credits to start.

It really is a great concept, especially with cheap paperbacks that you can't trade in at your local used book store.

Ooh, and it looks like they run Swap-a-CD and Swap-a-DVD too! I probably have more of those lying around than anything else. Are different books worth a different amount of points? Like hardcover vs paperback, or the condition they're in? I'd like to swap or sell my individual Buffy season 8 issues and get the TPBs now that they're all out. Would those be worth less, and do they take comics?

For some reasons, some are worth 2 credits. I've got some great and expensive books for just one credit.

And you can buy credits for about $3.25 a credit, which may not be a bad deal if you find a great book but don't have any credits yet.

I used this and ended up getting one of the Buffy Books. "These Our Actors." Started it today. It's really good so far.

I also got a book by Francesca Lia Block. Dangerous Angels, which is all of the Weetzie Bat Books. I really like her writing style.
