Oh my god. I just found out a friend of mine, not close granted but still a friend, since I was 10-11 years old was found dead this morning off the highway near my house.

Also Wednesday morning, a male's body was found on the side of the road in Lexington County, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Major John Allard says 17-year-old Dequan Bernard Davis of West Columbia was shot and killed Wednesday in the 3600 block of Charleston Highway in the Dixiana community.

Preliminary results of an autopsy performed on Wednesday show that Davis died as a result of being shot multiple times in his upper torso with a 40-caliber handgun, Harman said. The coroner ruled that Davis' death was a homicide.

Davis' body was found about five feet away from a bicycle, Lecington Co. Sheriff James Metts said. Detectives think it is possible that Davis was riding the bicycle at the time that he was shot. Witnesses told detectives that they saw Davis riding the bicycle on Charleston Highway about 30 minutes before he was shot.

This is really weird. Like.. I don't see him often. But I saw him just the other day. And now.. I won't see him ever again.

I lost my grandfather a few months back.. but this is different. This was a kid. A good kid. It's really surreal right now.

That must be awful. And close to your house you say? Damn...I'm sorry to hear that.
 
This is so awful, I'm sorry.

There was a similar case in my hometown 5 years ago, a 14-year-old girl was stabbed to death and her 13-year-old friend was also badly harmed, but survived. I didn't know either of those girls really, I had met the 14-year-old, the other one not at all, but since I'm from a pretty small town with not that many people, a lot of my friends really knew her. One of my best friends went to elementary school with her and used to hang out with her a lot around that time, and one girl from my class was at that point the best friend of the 14-year-old. It was just so weird. The story was all over the news in Germany, on front pages, TV, just everywhere, and there we were in our small town where almost everyone knew the girls to some level.
 
Thats terrible im really sorry. A girl who I knew in HS died in a car accident and it was a similar surreal feeling.
 
OH, honey, I'm so sorry!! *HUGS* I know how you feel. A friend of mine killed himself in December... And seeing him laying there in the coffin when I went to the visitation was the most surreal thing ever. It's like... You never expect to see/hear people your own age dead, you know?

Again, I'm so sorry about this... You and your friend's family are in my prayers.
 
I'm really sorry to hear about that. I hope you're okay. I'm not going to sit here and say "I know how you feel" because I don't, but if you need someone that can empathise and lend an ear then I'm around 🙂 x

We had a long moment of silence for him today at school. And there was a girl who came into my spanish class asking for donations so they could make t-shirts.. of course, I never carry around cash so I felt awful.
