perhaps it is the hellmouth, or something big. I think it would be a fascinating twist if it was something on the way to destroy the demons. a demon apocolypse instead of a hman one. However I had a theory about how Buffy would leave the show, kinda matches the theories here about Anya. What if instead of dying, or just leaving or something wquzlly as lame, she chose to go into a demon demention and started wiping out the demons in that dimention. would help protect the world with less demons alive to go through the hellmouth. And the current slayer (faith at the mo) could continue work on earth. Kind of working both sides of the field. I think that would do a ,ot of kewl damage to the demon world.
 
It would be a cool way for her to leave through a portal to another dimension. And to Stormwolf I've quoted the 2nd board rule for you, it's not that I'm picking on you it's just that otherwise they (staff) will PM you with the same thing!

The thing about Hell dimensions, though, is you never know what things are like there. Buffy could go and have no powers to fight with. Alternate dimensions have alternate realities.

For no particular reason I just thought this: maybe Buffy goes back to Heaven. She's not even supposed to be here, she's been summoned back from the dead (thanks, Will) not that we're not grateful but we know she's not right - something is changed because Spike can hit her with impunity.
 
You're right about the alternate dimension thing, but not entirely, some other dimensions have other rule, but some others don't ... Glory seemed to be pretty strong here on Earth and Connor and Holtz survived Corvax (was it Corvax ... I forgot). But yet other do change Angel in Pylea turned into something different then a vampire. But then again, I don't recall any dimension, where your strenght is different ???
 
you... recall dimensions? lol. It's not like those are the only ones out there!

But I don't think that Buffy should just start going into other dimensions and killing things. She's there to protect EARTH. humans. Why go into another dimension and start killing things that never bothered you? I say, kill the demons that are killing humans... and ya know, get the "cows" out of Pylea, and everything's cool. Remember, not ALL demons are evil.
 
I didn't say, those were the only, I just said here are a few I know. And for Buffy not killing demons in other Dimensions, well that depends, if those demons threaten the earth at some point the might as well be slayed too. And I know not all demons are bad.
 
Maybe it foreshadows the coming of something huge from the hellmouth?

😉 I think it could be something huge from the hellmouth. If you watch the "Zeppo" Buffy is talking to willow about some type of demon she saw in the hellmouth, (it not the master,she had killed him already) she said that it's will be the first to come out if the hellmouth should open up. she also stated that she do not think she could beat it. Do anyone remember what monster her and willow are talking about?
 
I'm pretty sure that the 'from beneath you it devours' line also had to do with the hellmouth. And since it's been mentioned in just about every episode I'm having the feeling that it's going to be a major part of the season, with the hellmouth possibly opening. And as much as I love Anya I have a feeling from what D'hoffern(?) said that her days are limited when it opens. I think that was a bit of foreshadowing.

Can't wait to see what they're doing with this. I wish they would explain if there's still anything in the basement of the school, and what that shapeshifter was....
