Okay, here is the situation - season 4 AtS happened but without Connor going batshit crazy. There was no need to repurpose Connor, therefore no reason to join W&H.

Season 7 Buffy happened - the hellmouth is closed.

You can chose three Buffy characters to come to AI. Spike is flambe but can still pop out of the amulet. This includes all the characters from season 7 - like Faith, Woods, Kennedy, etc.

THREE CHARACTERS!

Who are you choosing and why?

Right now I choose:

Spike, because I love the Angel & Spike dynamic
Willow because Willow and Fred deserve to happen and Kennedy should go rot in her family mansion
Giles - I'd love to see both tensions and bonding between both watchers

Spike - For the same reason you said.
Andrew - He would have been entertaining at Wolfram and Hart, and could have gone with Spike on missions.
Dawn - I think it would have been cool to see her at Angel Inc, she could have gotten more experience in the field.

I'd love a character like Faith on Angel full time but the trouble is I think the whole point of Angel was to separate the character from the slayer, a few run-ins are fine but not full time, she would have taken the spotlight away from the others I think.

I think Dawn would have been awesome with AI
Willow: Because Willow/Fred should've happened. Plus super-kickass wicca!

Faith: Liason to the burgeoning slayer army. Plus she would always have Angel's back.

Giles: Because I would've liked to see Giles interact with Angel, Wesley and co. Would've been awesome.

No W&H - since Connor didn't blow a gasket there was no need to take them up on their offer. They're still headquartered at the Hyperion. Do you still want Andrew?

I really like the idea of Dawn!

I would have like to see going over and in no order:
1) Spike: Dynamic with Angel as we have seen. To funny and at certain times, cool/badass. Also, Spike's dynamic/relationship with my next pick
2) Dawn: She never found her solid role on Buffy, and I would like Dawn to try her luck on Angel as a low level witch in practice. Also I would want to see how a relationship between Conner and Dawn would play out, as well as a friend/mentor dynamic between Fred and Dawn.
3) I want to say Faith only in the context of the older sister relationship she could develop with Conner. (Ex: Angel gives Conner crap and Faith takes him out for some slaying and a drink after). But having Faith on the scene kind of gives quite a bit of power to the 'good guys'. If there could be a real need for Faith, like fighting the beast or a large number of vampires/demons unite to take out Angel for good, then I'd be happy to have Faith on Angel.

Not sure I'd want so many BTVS characters on Ats, but if I had to pick...

1) Spike- I've always been on the fence about him though to be honest. As has been said, the Spangel dynamic is great. But then "Chosen" just doesn't have the same impact for me knowing he 's revived soon after.
2) Faith- Again, for reasons that have been stated already.
3) Dawn- I'd be interested to see how she'd develop away from Buffy and carry on growing up.

If I decided that Spike was better left in "Chosen" then I'd go for Willow. Loved "Orpheus", would like to see Fred make a friend and with Cordelia gone (I assume she's still comatose in this scenario) they have a new "gathering info by mystical means" person.

I do like the idea of Giles perhaps redeeming himself on Ats after a couple of seasons of very questionable behavior. Plus the interaction with Wesley would be interesting to see.

Spike- I just love him and Angel in s5, I wouldn't trade that for someone else.
Willow- I loved her and Fred in Orpheus and wanted to see more of them bonding and geeking out
Dawn- After reading what some of you wrote, I agree. If Cordy is still gone, then I think Dawn would be a good fit for her role, and she's still young, she needs to see a different side to demon fighting, other than what Buffy has shown her.

*Faith is a tough pick, I'd love to see more of her for sure, but I'm not sure she is up for sticking around LA and doing the investigating thing. Even if she did stay in LA, I don't see her working full time for Angel. She rather be off doing her thing.

That's how I see Faith too. I want her there, but it just doesn't seem to fit.
1. Willow: like other said, I wanted to see Frillow happen. But even then, just overall Willow would have been a great addition. In Orpheus she really fits well with the show, she almost feels like old Willow. It would have been interesting to see her character on a more mature and darker show.

2. Dawn: I have a soft spot for her character, MT is also an amazing actress. I would have loved to see 18yo Dawn, and how grown up she is, finally moving on her own and not being in her sister's shadow. I think she would have done well on Angel, and finally she wouldn't have been treated simply like Buffy's sister. I'm really not a fan of the Connor and Dawn pairing though, so let's keep em seperate.

3. Ugh this one is hard. Parts of me really want Faith to be there, but another part think Faith works best as a guest star, part of what makes her character so great is that she doesn't truly belong on either show, but she would have done great on her own show. It's really a toss up between Faith and Spike for the third spot. I don't think having both would have worked, but at the same time I would love either of them on the show. I really liked Spike on AtS, actually it's probably my favourite season for his character, and him and Angel together is awesome. But if they manage to come up with a great story for Faith, than I want her on there, but they would have needed to come up with something real good.

Let me think, Spike because I like the way he fit in season 5 but I think the reason he remained so much on his own was because he was avoiding evil inc so it would be interesting to see it in a place where he was ok with joining in more. There would have been more of a chance of him developing more friendships which would have been cool to see. Also I think that not taking over Evil Inc and having Connor around would put Angel in a better head space so while they would still bicker I don't think there would be quite at much real malice between them as there was in the begin of the real season 5.

Dawn: She could be really grow into her own here, getting something that is just hers. I think it would make Angel do a bit of double take, trying not to see her as the little girl she was when he left. It was briefly touched on when Riley came back in s6 that all the men that left Buffy left Dawn too in a lot of ways and I would love to see how that would effect the Angel Dawn dynamic. I she and Fred would be great friends but I really think Wesley would end up being the one to mentor her and I can even seem the developing a father/daughter relationship like Buffy Giles and I think that could be great for both characters. And while I fully understand and support why Dawn was mad at Spike in season 7 I really miss their friendship, they were awesome. I don't see her and Connor romantically but they could be friends too. She and Gunn would be really great, also I imagine Lorne being quite fond of her too,

The third is more difficult I can see both Willow and Faith fitting in well but I think character wise that both of them really needed to do their own thing for awhile, but I had this kind of random idea but just go with me for a moment. Graham Miller. Riley's army buddy, the sane one. So he get's injured pretty badly on an op and is given a medical discharge because while he healed enough to fight pretty good he can't meet army regulations any more. He staying with family in LA not really sure what to do with himself but he runs into the Fang Gang and start reluctantly working with them because on the one hand it make him feel good to be apart of a team again it is more than a bit weird to be working with two vampire ( he actually like Lorne). But slowly over the course of the season and maybe the next he starts to feel more and more at easy until one day it hits him that he wouldn't go back to the military even if he could. He found a home right where he is.

I miss Dawn and Spike so much!
Spike- Because I liked the way that he and Angel worked together.

Faith- Not to completely replace Cordy, or even to actually be a part of Angel's team, but to be the one person who can tell Angel just how full of crap he usually is, and not only make him see it, but also actually try and do something about it. She could be the commander of a Slayer team based in L A

Dawn- For some strange reason, don't ask me for any more explanation than that, I think that she and Harmony would be good friends

Willow- Could be assigned to help Faith's Slayer team. She and Fred could meet up in the evenings to discuss how their respective teams were making out.

Since Spike ended up on AtS as a regular anyway, I'm not going to say him, but yes - Willow, Dawn, and Faith would have fit best. Though guest spots by Xander and Giles would've been cool too - I can imagine Giles meeting the S5 Wesley and them trying to one-up each other (like and Spike and Angel's "who saved the world the most" argument).

Willow: Because Willow/Fred should've happened. Plus super-kickass wicca!
And a bit of technology babble in there as well 🙂

Faith: Liason to the burgeoning slayer army. Plus she would always have Angel's back.
And Angel would have hers 😀

Spike- Because I liked the way that he and Angel worked together.
I agree, Spike was a great addition to AI

And they shouldn't have killed Cordy in the first place 🙁

I would love Fred and Willow to work out the science of magic!

I would love to see Giles and Wesley interacting now that Wesley has been through his own sorta Ripper phase - I wonder who would win a showdown between the two watchers.

That's a tough pick ... I can assume their combat skills/magic proficiency are about equal; Giles is the more reasonable thinker, while Wes is the more ruthless one - which isn't to say that Giles won't go to extremes to get the job done if it has to be (i.e. his merciless dispatch of Ben).

Nice thread!🙂

I think it is Faith and Spike who I am struggling to choose between. Spike I was thinking of leaving just because of the significant depth he had been covered during Buffy's run, but of course there is still much to do with him and Angel. Then again I can see how he would fit a bit more on Angel than Faith.

WILLOW - Like everyone said her and Fred would just be ace. That could be one of the great slow burning romances of all time, and you could even work in a Tara appearance here and there. Not to mention seeing them work together on cases would be fun.

DAWN - Having seen her fully blossom (or at least start to) on Buffy then I think it would be good to see Dawn as an adult on Angel. I like the idea of her challenging Angel on certain stuff by bringing up her sister and what she would do etc.. You could also have Wesley add to her training.

FAITH - Having tossed a coin😉 it came up Faith. Just think there are further possibilities with her and Angel based on what we saw in Buffy S3. Can see a mini-feud developing with Cordy too. A More serious and wise Cordy against Faith at her best would be very interesting.

Did consider Giles because he is overall one of the best characters and is another one who has an interesting history with Angel, but I just think he would be too much like Wes and that maybe at this point the character has peaked.

Hearing all this just makes me wish that there had been an additional two seasons of Angel (totaling up to seven like Buffy), and that all these characters had been a part of the main/recurring cast.
