TIME LINE? When Willow fell under the power of evil. An alternative to when Willow became known as Dark Willow.

Giles liked to tell people that the world was populated a lot earlier than it was. Many people he told the tale to were involved with the same type of work as he was. They realised that it hadn’t begun as a paradise but as a Demon’s playground, for many thousands of years the Devil lauded control of all killings. While he did that elements of mankind had begun to advance, encroaching on the devil domain until the time that mankind took control.
Well, that was the simplistic version of how Giles liked to tell people, from a story had been passed down to him in books. It had been thought lucky that Willow had been partially taken over by the dark forces as it had been three weeks since the first alien spacecraft had been sighted in the earth’s atmosphere. Now the aliens were systematically destroying all life, all creatures were being removed from existence.
Buffy had found herself at a loss for the first time since the vampires had entered her life there was nothing to do. All the demonic creatures had gone to fight the aliens which our Buffy thought was lucky as she could devote all her time to keeping Willow as her best friend. Giles had gone to England to see the women of The Coven and get help for Buffy’s best friend. Buffy herself was at a loss, she had tried to understand about magic some usages of it had been useful to her but the essence of it had evaded her.
Luckily for her the alien forces had located themselves west of Hawaii and moved westward removing all life. The armies of the world had attacked them on many been occasions and suffered great losses. Buffy had gone to the Giles’s magic shop, it seemed to have a magnetism for Willow though why she didn’t understand. Buffy was in the back room training when she became aware of someone being stood in the doorway.
Buffy stopped and looked at her, about to ask her who she was Buffy suddenly realised it was Willow though she had darkened blood veins rising on her face even her hair had become blackened, but Buffy couldn’t get over the stare of those black eyes. “Oh have we got news for you,” said Willow. She moved to the side to allow Giles to squeeze passed here. Buffy saw it was Giles, he wandered to her. It was then that Buffy noticed Spike in the room.
“I have been ordered to be here, to help the Chosen One.” Buffy laughed “What you? You’re going to help me? How.” Spike looked down his nose at her. “I didn’t mean you, I was told to be here for Willow. Someone else had called for her to be here, now,” said Spike. Buffy looked to Giles who grimaced. “He has many names, to make matters easier you can now know him as the Devil. He has risen and given powers to someone who he felt had great power, Giles faced Willow.
He approached me in England and he told me he wants the aliens gone and to arrange it. He told me he had a good thing going on in India, they stopped that so now he wants his revenge.” Buffy looked to him then at Spike and Willow. Giles tried to tell her that everything had been tried talking, bullets, bombs and rockets. Giles faced Willow I was told to give the aliens something they would never think of or expect.
There have been many films where microscopic organisms and bacteria have aided mankind. Well we are in a situation where all kinds of magic can be unleashed on them. Think of it Buffy, the Devil wants them gone, he smiles to himself. “Those idiot army boys are going to get such a surprise soon when they get told to back off or else.”

The aliens had been burrowing deep into the ground and systematically emptying the soil, rock and caverns of all the resources. The Devil caused earthquakes to bury and pulverise the hordes of unnatural bodies. Willow had been enjoying herself creating tempests to disrupt the invaders. Buffy spent the next day’s buried in books, she began to teach herself how the earth’s resources had been created. It wasn’t until she began to look at the construction of the world that questions formed in her mind.
Going to the magic shop she managed to make Giles accept what her studies had caused her to see. Giles was able to get Willow to visit them, Buffy had Willow realise that the aliens avoided salt water and fresh water. No tunnels had been started underwater though they had burrowed under the water, Buffy had Willow see if the Devil might like some fun. She had the Devil send a flood to save mankind from the aliens.
