...emerges the dwarf family, back from vacation! Tired, but rested; rich with memories, but much poorer!

Hey guys, y'all have been busy (uhh, my keyboard picked up an accent here...🙂). I saw a few interesting thread titles, so I'm wading in, axe at the ready!!

Disney was great, but CROWDED. I think everyone in Texas was there... and the weather!!! 80+Farenheit and sunny...a nice break from the snow that Ontario and the northeast got!

Welcome back. i'm glad that you and your family hd a good time... But now the question must be asked... What was your favourite experience while in the world of Disney?
 
Thanks guys, I did miss my daily talking on the boards!

As a group, the dwarf family liked the DisneyQuest interactive stuff...we all got to be Pirates of the Caribbean, comic book heroes and Buzz Lightyear! I gotta say that the best rides in the park(s) are the Rock 'n Rollercoaster at MGM and Test track at Epcot. The one thing Disney does better than all the other amusement parks is "sell the sizzle" with the steak. Every ride has a well crafted back story, and they tell it to you when you're waiting in line...a really good way to make any wait seem shorter.
 
Welcome back! I went to Florida this past summer (as one of those Texans!). I loved every bit of it...but I think I was just glad to be out of Texas for a week.
 
Billie: Yeah, we went from 80F to 24F in the space of 24 hrs...not designed for comfort, for sure! We drove, and it took 2 days, but it made the transition a bit more tolertable. And we got to see what a beautiful country America is...and as a Canadian who has travelled extensively in my own country, I've seen some of the most awesome landscapes in the world here. Your country has landscapes rivalling ours...different, but no less gorgeous!

trustful one 🙂 : All the Texans I talked to were very pleasant! It was nice to hear their opinions and listen to their funny accents...oh, wait, I was the one with the funny accent...🙂

I cannot tell you how much i loved the Rock 'n Rollercoaster. I rode that thing until I could no longer walk. I was also a big fan of the monorail. I thought that was pretty fun all on it's own. "Por favor contengenci alijarbo de las quetas"... Hee, I haven't been to Disney World for four years and I still remember that...

I also liked the Alien Encounter "ride". Did you experience that?
 
No, unfortunately they've decommissioned the "alien encounter". They're putting up something else in that space. And all I can think of when they do the "keep your hands and legs in the car" speech is Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin doing "keep your hands and arms inside the carpet" shtick. Hilarious!

I did get to do the new ride at Epcot...Mission: Space. Really cool, but you get a bit suspicious when they supply barf bags in the ride and each rider has an Emergency Stop button within reach...I felt like booting for about 20 minutes after I got off...you get about 2Gs of pressure (maybe more) and a good 30 seconds of simulated weightlessness. That was the worst part, and it really makes you feel ill, but it was still awesome!
