(This isn't as much for the purpose of giving the Fuffy shippers a thrill as it is to get the opinion of the other Board members)

What would your reaction have been if, instead of Willow entering into a gay relationship with Tara, the gay couple had been Buffy and Faith? Or Buffy and Willow, or Cordelia, or Tara, or Anya... My point being, if Buffy insread of Willow had been the gay star, how would it have effected your viewing of the show?

I ship Fuffy so.. that would have been awesome. 😀 and if Buffy's gay then there would be no reason for Spike to have stayed on the show for so long, that's a win win IMO.

Would it have replaced the whole statutory rape arc from the early seasons? Or would she come out in college like Willow?

I'd argue that Buffy and Faith's differing attitudes toward slaying form as much of a metaphor for attraction as magic did for Willow and Tara.

ROFL I LOVE your banner!
I wouldn't have minded a gay Buffy, just don't know how I like her with another Slayer. I love the whole forbidden love/in love with thy enemy aspect. Hmmm, maybe Buffy & Darla? I love Darla, could've definitely gone for that!

Lol. interesting. :D
I would definitely not like it if Buffy ended up with Faith as she annoys me. As for the others, maybe. I don't think it would have worked if she had been with Willow, but I guess that's only because we've seen them as always being friends. Same for the others.
As some have mentioned though it would have meant less Spike, so I'm not digging the idea massively 😛

Buffy/Faith I would have disliked because I loathe the idea of people who have tried to kill each other suddenly finding out they are in love and. Plus, that would have met too much faith for my taste. Buffy/some other female of the non-vampire variety I probably would have liked. I think Buffy/Tara would have been a decent idea, since Tara is a damsel in distress so often Buffy saves people so often. 🙂 Plus, Tara would have been much a better source of emotional support for Buffy than Spike.

You all know what I would very much like about a "hello, gay now!?" Buffy. Would do much to nail a coffin shut whose stinky content should've stayed dead and buried after a certain Sarah McLachlan song started playing. 😉

Of course, losing Spuffy would be a steep price to pay for that. 😛

Plus, Tara would have been much a better source of emotional support for Buffy than Spike.
Better, as in more healthy? I'll grant you that immediately.
Better as in more plausible - hell to the no. Tara was personally involved with the violation that caused the problem (as you well know, I consider Bargaining a horrendously gaping plot hole about her character), so it's much more logical for Buffy to go to someone innocent like Spike for support. The one more logical choice for support than Spike would've been Giles (though not in an erotic kinda way *shudders to think of the concept of Biles*), but certainly not Tara.

I'm guessing it's not 'Prayer of St. Francis'?

Not that I meant for Buffy/Tara to happen in S6 but I still don't see how this would have been any less plausible to Buffy turning to Spike. Whatever Tara might have done she hasn't tried to kill Buffy many times, nor is she a remorseless killer. Then again I don't think resurrecting Buffy was a violation anyway. But let's not get off-topic...

well duh, the whole Spike as Buffy's support *is* a S6 phenomenon... so of course I applied the Tuffy idea to that season.
Well they had set up the possibility of either Willow or Xander being gay. Either one of those two I would easily believe. But Buffy was always written and played as a very straight character. It felt normal and natural when Willow fell in love with Tara because they had already played her with some gay... but if Buffy, given the first three seasons we had, suddenly fell in love with a woman in season 4 I would think it was incredibly out of character. Especially if that woman was Faith. No offense to the Fuffy shippers, but that ship is absolutely nonsensical to me and it has actually made me dislike Faith instead of not care about her. But that's a side note...

My point is I would be weirded out and hate it not because it was the main and title character who was gay now it would be because they didn't set that up. Now if they set it up that Buffy was gay, sure I'd like it. If they set it up as good as they did Willow... so it felt natural and normal and not at all forced.

People say that it was out of character for me to date my girlfriend simply because I had always been attracted to guys. There really is no type for this sort of stuff, no way to tell until it happens.
The stumbling block for me would be that Buffy and Faith have more or less opposite attitudes to love and sex- Buffy believes in big romances and true love, while Faith just picks up a partner for fun and chucks them out when she's done. It's more subtle when Faith wants to be Buffy and have her life and her friends than suggesting that she wants to sleep with her.

I would probably be shocked, because I never thought about Buffy being gay.

I don't her relathionship with Faith would've lasted because of their differences, and if she ended up with Willow I would be disappointed because that would ruin their friendship. Other than that I wouldn't have problems with her being gay.

What do you think about her s8 escapades?

What would your reaction have been if, instead of Willow entering into a gay relationship with Tara, the gay couple had been Buffy and Faith?

1) I would have found it slightly more believable with respect to the characters. Faith is a wild girl and I would have no problem believing she would experiment, especially since all her men were losers. As for Buffy, Faith always spoke to her dark side, and I think there could have been a certain attraction beyond a purely platonic.

2) I would have found it more enjoyable to watch. Both Allyson and Amber are cute girls, but not in my opinion especially hot. ED is hot. SMG, before she became emaciated, was hot. The two of them together ... steaming.

Rather than gay per se, I think the two should have had some bisexual tension that they would indulge for a season or so. And of course, when it didn't work out in the end, they could have gone back to men.

As a Fuffy shipper it would have been interesting. I'm not sure it would have worked as well as Spuffy though. I tend to agree with people that envisioned Fuffy as a short term thing.

I would have preferred Fuffy to Twillow because i prefer the character of Buffy so i would have had more interest in how being gay affected her life.

This is an interesting question. I thought for sure Buffy and Faith were going to end up being the gay couple. Then my dreams were shattered into a million pieces. IDK I don't think their relationship would have lasted long though. Buffy with any other woman would have been a recipe for disaster
