I didn't find Buffy or Angel all that funny most of the time tbh, but it definatly had its moments.
The Girl in Question is my favorite funny episode from the Buffyverse, Spike and Angel comedy genius. Storyteller and Spin the bottle run it a close second though.
What was your favorite comedy episode?

My vote goes to 'Tabula Rasa' for funniest Buffyverse episode. Runners up include 'Him', 'The Girl in Question', 'Smiletime', and 'Spin the Bottle.'

Woulda never guessed!
'Band Candy' - Giles&Joyce + Snyder

After that and completely biased, in no particularly order, Lovers walk, Something Blue, Pangs, Intervention.

band candy is hilarious
Even the funny episodes have a more serious side to them so it's hard to decide. I absolute love the hilarious bits in Tabula Rasa, Storyteller, Doppelgängland, Intervention, Spin the bottle and Guise will be guise. But those parts are too short in comparision. All of them might not even be considered "funny" episodes. Not like I've taken the time to compare so I might be wrong (as I often am) but The girl in question, Smile time and Band candy feel more consistant with the funny parts. So I'd say those are my top three. And funniest for me at this moment would be The girl in question. I'm one of the few that doesn't like "Him".

I'd class spin the bottle as a funny ep. I agree about Him, i didn't like it.
Yeah, like Kinslayer says. Many of my favorite funny episodes often turns or ends on a sad note. Like 'Lovers walk', 'Tabula Rasa', 'Storyteller' etc.. So I find it hard to choose them.
I think 'Earshot' has some of the funniest jokes. But as the ones I alread mention it's hard to call that episode funny during the second half.

'Him' is another favorite, it can be the funniest of the all but Dawns suicide attempt always gets to me.

'Band Candy' is someone that works all the way.
'Doppelgängland', 'Pangs', 'Something Blue' are others. I even want to say 'Beer Bad'. 🙂

Which one is funniest? I really can't choose, sorry.
It has been a long time since I saw 'The girl in question' and 'Smile Time' so I'm not sure about them.

How could I forget Beer bad. Not the funniest but some scenes I really love.
I'd say The Girl in Question is the funniest, but Spin the Bottle is a close second. Can't beat Wes and his karate skills.

I have to go with Tabula Rasa and Smile Time. Funniest moment ever though was in the episode when Giles comes back and is talking to Buffy in the training room of the magic shop. When she tells him the stuff thats happened since he was gone and he cant hold his laughter in. Funniest laugh ever, I couldn't stop laughing at that.

I can't really choose just one, but some of the contenders would be Doppelgangland, Intervention, Band Candy, and Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered (I'm surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet - it's hilarious imo).

yeah, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered is hilarious. Didn't think of that one.
I know alot of people dont like Where the Wild Things Are, but thats one of Spikes funniest moments ever. He's on fire in this ep.

^ I love Spike and Anya in Where the Wild Things Are. 🙂

Forgot to mention Beer Bad(I don't know why most of people think it's a bad episode). Caveman Buffy totally cracked me up. And Storyteller. Andrew himself is funny enough, but Spike's "Sod off" scene kinda made an episode. 😀

Andrew in storyteller when he goes to interview Xander and Anya and he says ''so Xander, a year ago today you left Anya at the alter...'' haha.

Definitely The Girl In Question, but honarable mentions go to Harm's Way and pretty much every other Angel S5 Episode. 😀

I never actually found Btvs to be particularly funny at all, but Angel has always been hilarious, especially in S5. 🙂

I think BtVS is way funnier than Angel!
I'm on my first round of watching Angel for the very first time, and I just watched Sense and Sensitivity. I haven't laughed THAT hard during any other show I've ever watched. lol I don't know why some people dislike that episode, but it was just too funny.

Without a doubt, the funniest episode for me is "Something Blue." Spike and Buffy getting engaged at this point in the show and acting all cutesy, coupled with Giles' bumbling blindness and Xander the demon magnet... The perfect comedy episode.

Next would be "Storyteller," one of the few high points of Season 7 and probably my favorite episode of that season. The writers revealed their self-awareness and lightened the serious tone of the season by poking fun at Andrew's obsession with fantasy, Buffy's long speeches, Spike's "tough guy" facade, and even Willow and Kennedy's not-so-popular relationship.

All deserving of mentions too are Smile Time, Tabula Rasa, Band Candy, Pangs, and Spin the Bottle. I need to rewatch Angel sometime... I know there are more funny episodes, but I'm just not as familiar with them as I am with Buffy.

She is probably the worst Angel episode, and yet it might have had the funniest joke of the entire series! Put me down for She, even though it sucks. The first five minutes, up until Angel said "Now I'm depressed," was Duck Soup-level comedy.

Then, of course, there's Storyteller, The Girl in Question, etc etc. Belonging doesn't lack for hilarity, though it's more average. I tend to laugh at least a bit at every Buffy/Angel ep. Beer Bad is largely bashed, but... "Nothing can defeat the penis!" You can't tell me you didn't laugh at that.
