The company is hoping to capitalize on the demise of first-run weekend sci-fi offerings (the last of which, "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda," concludes its run this season) as well as the expiration of 20th Century Fox Television's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel" and "The X-Files" current weekend deals at the end of the 2004-05 season.
