Me and a friend from college were thinking of going down to London today for the protests.

What's everyone's few about it all?

Anyone been watching the coverage on Sky News?

Bloody idiots and anarchists, not even realising its them thats causing the disruption and annoyance more often than not. Some of them turned up in a tank for gods sake, and they wonder why the police are there to protect the public from them.

Once again it's the minority that overshadows the majority, much of it is going peacefully.

the Police are not there to protect the public, they're there to protect the politicians.
There are issues in our world that need to be addressed, things like human rights, peace, proper medical care for those who can't afford it for themselves, the homeless, and many other things that I'm sure you could all add to the list. I'm not sure, however, whether standing out in a street or plaza waving a cardboard sigh just on the hope of getting on international television is the way to call attention to the various causes. And, frankly, as often as not, the causes being supported by the protesters are anything from simply foolish (S.I.N.A., the Society For Indecently Naked Animals was a legitimate, licensed protest group in the '60's) to one step short of criminal (race supremacist groups, regardless of who they are or who they are protesting) This is probably going to make some people mad here, but if all of the people doing the protesting were actually working on solving the problems, there would be a lot fewer problems.

Don't be daft. There are a few thousand. Not violent protesters, not extremist splinter groups, the total amount of protesters is a few thousand. Of these, perhaps 5% will be aggressive, and that would be a strangely large amount.

Want to know how many police there?

2500.

Somehow, I'm thinking that the problem will come from the 2500 cops protecting the interests of the rich, as is always the way with anti-capitalism protests.
