Well, guess it's time for a little introduction of myself...
First of all: hi everyone! I'm really glad about finding this site since now I'm living my 'Buffy - renaissance' days. I got all the 7 seasons on DVD from a friend for X-mas, and now I'm re-watching all the episodes. I've seen them in English for the first time because in my country (Hungary -> Middle-Eastern Europe) they were never released on DVD which would include the English version as well... 🙁 I could see them only on tv and therefore only in Hungarian (but that was not bad anyways, Hungarian voice actors are quite good).
Now, why I love the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. Well, I've been keen on this whole vampire - business since I was a little girl. I've simply fallen in love with them. (My having a 'Gothic soul' explains it all.) So no wonder the reason I started to watch Buffy was the word 'vampire' in the title. But that was only the beginning. Actually, after a while I really forgot about the vampire - thing. Okay, there were Angel and Drusilla, perfect vampires for me, and they are still among my favourite characters (especially Angel, who is THE favourite character for me), but there got to be another point of why I got absorbed by the series so much. It helped me a lot. Whenever Buffy had a change in her life, I had a change as well. Her reactions explained and meant a lot to me. Her love and caring for her friends made me understand how much my best friends meant to me. It helped me realize that love is not a bad thing, that having people who actually care for you is not bad either. And that is only one thing. And other example can be that when I started university I felt completely lost and all, but remembering that Buffy had to go through something similar and finally it turned out real good helped me. Now, I'm not lost anymore. And I could just make a neverending list of things like that but I won't. All in all, what I want to say is that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is about the life of a young woman. Maybe you can't take it literally but underneath it all, and understanding the series metaphorically it has a lot of psychology and can be considered as a 'guide to life for young people' - or at least for me...
Finally, a few words about me (apart from my thoughts considering Buffy): I'm a university student who likes to read Gothic fiction, science-fiction and manga in her free time, to watch anime, to hang out with her friends (a looooooot), to make music (especially playing the bass when I have the time to do so), and to draw niiiiiiice pics. I love all kind of arts, and I like to talk about the pieces of art. And an 'important' info: as someone who has ever been interested in literature concerning vampires I have to tell you that my favourite vampire (apart from Angel, of course) is Anne Rice's Lestat.

P.S. Hope I can become a real part of this community! 🙂

That has to be my favourite name, and thanks for all the info but mostly we just get a simple hello hehe, welcome to the boards 🙂

Hope You Like It Here.

What You Said About The Metaphors and stuff? I get that. My friends, well and the people who pick on me and what not, don't get that, they think it's a stupid show about demons and stuff...but you're so right, it's not, it's just about life =]

Hi and welcome to the BB :welcome:

I can't help you with your library project but I reckon you're asking in the best place...if there is info available on it, someone here will know how to get it 🙂

If you haven't already, please refer to the FAQ to familiarize yourself with the Board's rules.

You may also want to try posting in our BAD EGGS Adoption Forum, where new members may go if they wish to be mentored by another member who will help guide them around the boards.

Hey, welcome to the boards. I hope you enjoy posting with all of us. Always glad to see another Drusilla fan around here so again welcome and hope to see you around soon. ::bbat::

Wow! Thanx guys for all the welcoming messages. 🙂 Well, I've done my job (= have read the FAQ), and I think maybe I won't get lost. 🙂
Sorry if my introduction went a bit long - sometimes I just get a bit carried away when it comes to Buffy and explaining others why I like it so much.
Still I have a question (I hope it's not a problem that I'm asking it here): what are those 4 dorms for exactly? Is this whole thing like a role play game? I can't help but it reminded me a bit of Hogwarts... *hopes won't get killed for this remark - anyways, there are witches in Buffy as well*

The four dorms are indeed inspired by Hogwarts. They are Merrick, Raiden, Drogyn and Vahla Ha' nesh. Their names inspired by the Buffyverse. A member is sorted into a house by the Sorting Tome. In that house you get to interact with your fellow house mates and generally have fun. The house will have a prefect who will organise fun things for ye to do and it is a great way to get to know your boardmates. I would highly recommend getting yourself sorted. To do that head over to the soting tome and post a reply stating that you wish to be given a house. Have fun🙂
