What are some fun games you play with your friends? Could be board games, card games, whatever you like!

Tonight I played “The Voting Game” with my friends. This is where you draw a black card and vote on who that black card represents. For example, one of the cards was “who’s most likely to be convicted of a crime they didn’t commit?” Its fun and revealing!

I'm well known for playing Uno. I've played that ever since a kid and by now easily multitask while playing. I'm surprised it's not one of the many nicknames I've gained over the course of my life.

I'm open to checkers and chinese checkers but don't play either that much anymore (I won't say no, but don't have the game available myself and never ask).

I got into RPGs when I was 17 and consider them a positive influence that got me interested in subjects I'd have never gotten interested in otherwise (and also expanded my vocabulary as well as train me to do math in my head). D&D Forgotten Realms and Planescape (2nd edition) were my favorites, but Shadowrun could've had them beat easily if I'd found a group I could mesh with (only playing once or twice with a couple of groups). I prefer the mystery and intrigues of it more than the violence, though I did appreciate the gritty cyberpunk backdrop.

I'm thinking of getting a Playstation, mainly to play the Last of Us and also the old American McGee's Alice games. There are couple of other video games I'm intrigued by, but their names escape me at the moment (I'd try the Baldur's Gate games which are set in the Forgotten Realms, and I recall seeing someone play one of the Mass Effect games that I really wanted to see as a miniseries, so I'd probably try that game as well).

I do remember getting really good an arcade game called Ms. Pacman when I used a laundromat that had it (I was 18-19), but I never played it again after I moved from there.

When I was a little girl I LOVED Pick Up Sticks along with Jacks. Don't enjoy them now, but I can remember how much joy I had playing it when I was younger and it's pleasant to remember. I also saw real possibilities in the paper fortune teller game that was so popular in I think grades 5-7, but just who I'd marry, how many kids I'd have, etc, didn't interest me...I'd have wanted to put like a Goosebumps spin on them so that it was like curses, monsters, and future crimes you'd commit (meant to be humorous). I tried doing that but then it was others not so interested (in retrospect I should've tried that with the boys, but at that time of my life I wasn't mixing with many then).

With friends: I've played poker and Monopoly (God forbid!) with friends, but we're far more likely to end up dancing, wearing random costumes, jumping on a trampoline, and playing tag. Yes, all as adults, and often all at the same time. 18th century ladies with feathered masks running barefoot over ditches is quite the sight to behold.

With my Brother: I will have to say, I also spend a fair bit of time with my brother, who I count as a friend, and we daily end up sword fighting Errol Flynn style, usually during breaks or after work. We've got foam swords to really wack away at each other, but we use some fencing techniques, with some altered rules. If a limb gets wacked we can't use it anymore, and all objects and spaces are fair game. Example: Once, I attacked and my brother lost his sword. I took too long for a celebratory Errol Flynn laugh, got an exercise ball kicked into my face, then pushed into the couch, lost my sword, got run through. Game over. It isn't anything official, but we keep score. So far, he has a slight margin over my lifetime record. We also have some oak swords to use, but we called a truce on that a few years ago.

With the rest of my family: Clue. It gets intense.

At the moment we're doing a lot of trivia type games or simple ones like Boggle. Every Christmas one of the family gets a new set of trivia cards which we bring out for the meal, in in between courses we play that. Those games have resurfaced during the lockdown, once things return to normal and people other than my mother can come over I'll get out the board games, I have the Harry Potter Funko one that I've yet to play, but I have the usual ones of monopoly and scrabble in the cupboard as well.

You and your friends sound so cool! Last night one of my best friends and her husband came over and we played a “Newlyweds” style game called “The Best Friend Game” (newlyweds is gender specific; which makes it hard when you’re a gay couple such as me and my husband). Anyway it was so much fun!! And we beat them twice! Lol

Family trivia sounds like a great competition! I’m sure it spurs lots of memories!! I’m super competitive in game night so I can see it getting real crazy real fast! Lol

For the Voting Game "Who's most likely to be convicted of a crime they didn't commit, if someone was to say Anyanka Bunny Slayer (I would disagree - though I might be tempted to say something along the lines of, ah well, er yes.
But I wouldn't because she is shorter than me
and because she is a valued member of Black Thorn,
I know that as other members have told me that.

Classic board games are always great but 5 second rule is super fun to play with a group of friends or family! You have to draw a card for the player to your right and read it aloud, it should say something like *name 3 animals* but normally a lot harder, the person would then have to name 3 animals within 5 seconds, if they don't manage it then you can have a go, if they do they move forward one space, there are also things like danger zones and pass cards!
