Lol soz, there's so much happening I forget. Yeah it was incredible, and I'm glad it went on for as long as it did. Considering there was CGI used and a giant in their team, it felt super realistic.

They did not even plan on that trampling scene. It was raining the day they were going to shoot the original scene so they could not and had to come up with an alternate scene which did not involve the weather, so they did that trampling scene. Would be interesting to see (or hear) what the original scene would have been.

Oh wow I didn't know that. It felt like it was in the script from the beginning, especially with the conversation with Melisandre about his resurrection and being brought back to die on that battlefield.

Davos is definitely gonna have words with Melisandre over Shireen after finding the wee toy.
 
I've enjoyed this season way more than last season. Was great seeing Ramsey get his 'just deserts'. Sad seeing Rickon die, but his character has barely been seen on the series, anyway.
 
Sansa intentionally killed Rickon and Jon's army by strategically delaying the reinforcement.

Now Sansa has the army and the family name. Rickon's got rid off. Snow is just a single bastard now.

You indeed know nothing, Jon Snow.
 
I'm not one for battle scenes but I did enjoy the battle. It felt and looked different from most on the show so far. The perspective in how it was filmed, with the confusion and mess that is a battlefield was believable. Jon proudly saying "good work" to one of his guys after killing a Boulton, then said guy being killed 0.2 seconds later is like a metaphor for the whole show. 😀

Yeah, I wasn't really fussed with Rickon's death. If someone is shooting arrows at you from behind? Like, maybe not run in a straight line? Zigzag a bit? Duck every now and then? Rickon made me shout at the TV in frustration. Gorram Starks.

I liked the scene with Daenerys and Theon and Yara (well, especially Daenerys and Yara).

Religion and girl power do seem to be the main themes this season, which are somewhat contradictory in our world, so it's been interesting.

Ramsay's death: somewhat underwhelming. Wish Theon had been there for it. 🙁

Sansa is a sly old fox these days. She's learned a lot from being held prisoner in the years since leaving Winterfell. Sansa and Arya would make quite a team these days.

How DID Arya manage to kill the Waif? Was the Waif part of Arya? Her opposing side, the side of her that says she'll never make it? She kills the Waif and finally she is no one. No One of the House Stark of Winterfell doesn't have the same ring to it I suppose.
 
I loved the Dany/Yara scene. They certainly are placing women at the forefront of the show.

Rickon was guaranteed to die. Sansa had it spot on with her assessment. As the supposed only living male heir of Winterfell, Rickon's time was up as soon as Ramsay aquired him. Interesting how Sansa has progressed through the seasons and how she was steadfast and logical, to Jon's overtly emotional response to Rickon fleeing Ramsay.

And honestly. Why wouldn't you zigzag?!

I think seeing Rickon impaled on an arrow was emotional, but inevitable. And then seeing Jon face off against hundreds of mounted riders - great visual. The battle was great. It was claustrophobic and very intense, and beautifully filmed, with very inobvious CGI (which I like). I loved the parallels between Jon, getting stuck into battle and Ramsay, sitting on his horse at the back of the field. And then Jon running towards Winterfell and Ramsay fleeing to Winterfell. We always knew which bastard was going to win.

And quite frankly, the scene of Jon repeatedly hitting Ramsay in the face gave me a massive smile. He deserved it all, it made me happier than Joffrey's poisoning did, that's for sure! 😀

Don't get me wrong I liked the latest episode but it was predictable. So the one surprise was that there weren't any surprises. A nice change to let the "good" guys win for once. Which mean there should be a twist of some sort in the season finale.

Sansa is growing on me. Quite a lot. She's had it tough but mostly been moved around being a victim but now she's starting to take all that she's experienced and becoming someone to take seriously. I'm happy about that.

He was the youngest. They were just teaching Bran how to use the bow, you've no evidence that (on the show) Rickon ever went hunting.
 
I'm surprised by how happy I was at the end of the episode. Sure, I will miss
Margaery but maybe most because of the actress.

Two things that made me cheer
Sansa blowing off Littlefinger and of course Arya killing Walder Frey.

See, I saw that scene a lot differently.
Sansa is going to side with Littlefinger. When they were at the meeting hall and everyone was like the North Remembers, we follow a Stark... she was all happy and smiley, thinking Littlefinger was wrong and she won. Then when they said even though he's a bastard he's our king, she got the biggest scowl and gave Jon such a hateful look. Then looked at Littlefinger like you were right, they wont accept me.
But maybe I just read too much into everything. Because I knew
when the serving wench was giving Jaime the eye that it was Ayra
but I had no idea
they were going to use the wildfire then and there or just the ramifications of that. I did not see that coming. Queen Cersei is frightening

You mean when he was supposed to be in Skagos but on the show he was captured? They were probably feeding him. If not then the wildling woman was providing. Rickon was too sensitive to concern himself with hunting.

I knew it was going to be Arya! As soon as I seen the same wench serving Walder the pie. Much enjoyment.

Once again I only just noticed yet another actor from Red Riding in GoT (Joseph Mawle/Benjen Stark). They're really racking up now! I only just realised that one.
