It's official. My favorite game and my favorite tv show are finally colliding. Inspired by George A. Romero's zombie films, Call of Duty's newest expansion pack does a Left 4 Dead-esque zombie quest. Featuring stars like Danny Trejo (bad ass mother chucker!) and Sarah Michelle Gellar, here is the trailer for the expansion.

I don't think she does any voice acting in it though. Poo.

Anyone getting this for the X360? If so, I need to friend you NOW so we can play this when it's available for download 🙂

I have no desire to play this I dont like zombies lol the trailer looks like a video game version of Planet Terror.

But SMG looks so cute in VG form haha
 
The sucky part though is that in CoD zombies you don't get to pick a character. (Unless they make that an option) So I'll probably never wind up as her. Dammit.

Well from what I've read (which isn't much) it's supposed to be a parody of Left 4 Dead. Hopefully my sources are correct and they WILL let you chose the character of your liking.

Call of Duty: Black Ops looks to earn itself a whole bunch of grindhouse and zombie movie lovers as fans with the latest Escalation trailer.
The Call of the Dead trailer pays homage to grindhouse films, which have received a boost in popularity since the 2007 Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez film of the same name.
Call of the Dead is a new zombie map, one of five new maps bundled with the Escalation expansion pack.
It features the voice and likeness of genre movie heroes Danny Trejo, George Romero, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund and Michael Rooker.
In the trailer, each of the actors deliver lines of dialogue that reference their work in film and TV, including Machete, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and A Nightmare on Elm St.
George A Romero is the godfather of zombies, having made the original Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead films. In Call of the Dead, Romero plays the boss zombie.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation will be available as a paid download on May 3.

WHOA..my friends sometimes play COD...and now there is Sarah!!! This is great!! And they made her look surprisingly real.
 
George Romero is a zombie film LEGEND. Then we have Sarah, that's bloody brilliant, shame there's no voice acting though. Then, Robert Englund who played Freddy Krueger! This is gonna be one hell of a game. Thanks for sharing! I'm easy buying this.
 
Cool! I'm going to tell my dad and brother about it, they love this thing, and I love Sarah. I don't play this kind of games, because I get dizzy with all the movements of the pictures, and I feel like vomiting (you know, like when you're in a car, trying to read during).

I'm playing CoD Zombie every now and then, if it's not going to be too expensive and we find a bunch of PC gamers to kill some zombies together, i'm in.

But whos gonna play SMG if there is only one per sqad??? 😀

I think it's good that they finally made something different.
I was beginning to dislike those Call-of-Duty-War-stuff-games. It seemed like one equaled the other.
But this is something new.

And it's awesome that they have Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund and Danny Trejo!


The trailer itself is also pretty neat. I love Grindhouse trailers! 🙂
Don't think I'll buy it though.

I don't follow video games, except for the old consoles like Game Boy Advance and XBox. So, I really have no idea what Call of Duty is other than some sort of war or battle type shooting game. However, a new entry into the series "“ Call of Duty: Black Opts Escelation - will combine World War II style gaming with horror icons. Coming as a new, second "map pack," the game will feature a zombie map dubbed Call of The Dead. I'm guessing map pack is a term used to describe a new arc of playable levels? The map takes place on a ship, and instead of fighting other soldiers"¦you fight zombies!

Are you wondering who the four playable characters are yet? Sarah Michelle Gellar (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Grudge), Robert England (A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead), and Danny Trejo (Grindhouse) are your horror stars who will be shooting up zombies in the Call of The Dead map. Also, more importantly, George A Romero will appear in the video game, although I can't confirm whether he will be a playable character or a boss/villain.
