I thought we should have a gaming thread to talk about anything to do with games. Since there seems to be a lot of gamers on the board.

Ill start us off.

What did you guys think of e3 anything impress you?

Also I have a question what is natal? I have a idea but im a little confused.

Also could this mean the death of the wii?

Also what you guys playing at the moment, Im playing through mass effect and quake wars while I wait for the games I have ordered.

HI! Yay, gaming thread!
I am so annoyed. I recently bought an Xbox 360 game called Naruto: The Broken Bond (I knoe it's kinda cheesey but I like it for a little light gaming) but now I can't play it because I broke up with my boyfriend who had the 360 🙁 lol.
I'm mostly an MMO junkie. Also, rather big fan of JRPG's, RPG's, Beat-em-ups, retro and FPS's.

Wii kinda sucked...fun for parties and not much else in my opinion.

I got back into playing all my FF games (except FFVIII, I don't have that for some reason 😛). Even the ones for the DS too. Found out a couple of discs were missing though, which is always the case when you want to watch or play something... Anyways, got new copies and I'm loving them all. 😀 Brings back memories.

Final Fantasy is awesome for the bringing back memories. My brother is always replaying one of them at any given time. Then I go to his place and see him playing, then I must play too.
I'm not the lucky owner of a gaming thingy. I only own a Gameboy pocket from 1996 and my laptop...But my brother has a PS2. I use it a lot(when he's not looking.) to play Simpsons hit and run, Avatar - the burning earth, Chaos bleeds, lots of Singstar, and LEGO Star wars.

I love Lego Star Wars. :D
Are the ones for the DS any good. Haven't ever played the DS ones.

Yeah, they're pretty good considering it's the DS. I usually don't expect games with a lot of depth with the DS, but it's FF. 😀 Some are better than others, I'd say 3 and 4 are the best.

Cool, i'll have to check them out some time.
I usually try and avoid serious games on the DS. Serious gaming is for computers and consoles not hand-held.
I think the most serious game I have for the DS is Zelda: Phantom Hourglass lol.

haha, I've got that too!
I'm into the Final Fantasys lately too. I've been playing FFXII, FFXII: Revenant Wings, FFIV on DS and FFVII. Love VII. I always go back to it when I feel like I'm getting out of RPGing. Plus Cloud is kinda made of cool.

I love IV on the DS. Everything is all 3D. I can't seem to get into III though. Not too sure why. . .
I need to buy a new copy of IX. That card game is wicked addictive.

VII is the best! :D
Also, a lover of FF V11. Anyone seen Advent Children?

Bluebird agrees: haha, I've got that too!
The bits when you have to talk/blow into the mike were so embarresing because I was playing the game in the library and on the bus and people were staring at me lol.

Yeah, got it too. What about the spirits within, pretty cool aswell...
Yay for gaming! Lately I've mainly been playing Left 4 Dead, a multiplayer zombie splatter game. 😛 It's a lot of fun!

Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age looked good at E3 because I'm mainly a fan of RPGs and I will probably get murdered if I mention Planescape: Torment or Baldur's Gate one more time on these boards.

Still haven't got around to playing Mass Effect 2. My friend said he'd lend it to me when he's finished with it...why wont he hurry up.
Really looking forward to Assassins Creed 2 coming out soon, recently seen the trailer and play through and it looks tasty.
Also, Diablo 3...damn they're taking their time to bring it out but it's (hopefully) going to be worth the wait.

(Yay! There are actually some real girl gamers, we seem to be a rare breed 😛 )

I actually have that DVD. Sure it was cheesy and the camera moved so fast you could barely tell what was happening, but I really liked it. 😀

I just loved Sephiroth, he was so gorgeous. I know he was animated but that was a damn sexy animation 😀

Sephiroth had silly eyebrows. Now, Kadaj....

Mmm, I always thought he was, even when he was a wee blocky square thing in FVII. :P
I haven't got any of the new consoles, and I don't really play PC games, but I was a massive PlayStation geek! Like seriously. (sw) I've got old PS magazines from 12 years ago, with the original FFVII review. I'm a bit of a magazine geek too. 😀

Kadaj was pretty hot too. I'm just a bit of a Sephiroth fan girl 😛
But I also though Cloud was hot lol

I was a massive PlayStation geek!

Used to be a serious Playstation geek. Would have always said that anything PS was better than any other console until the Xbox 360 came out.
I prefer it to the PS3 because it just seems a lot smoother (and a lot less expensive) console. Not that I want a console that's to simplistic but the PS3 just seemed a little too much. If any of that made sence ???

Wow, I haven't played DDR for ages. I so need to play that again at some point. It was silly but rather fun 😀
Also, as much as I don't like to admit it I do actually like Guitar Hero...probably because I seem to be really good at it. Which is strange because I'm really bad at playing real guitar lol.

Sorry I seem to be replying to every single post. I just really like games...maybe I should shut up now.

I really need to get back to gaming. I miss it.
But somehow I just can't find the time anymore, not sure what I do instead...
Still reads PC Gamer every month though 🙂

Spore was the last game I got and played, didn't get that far though.

I think Metroid on the Game Cube was the last game I managed to finished.
Hmm, how many years ago was that?

I only play Xbox 360, is all I feel I need. Just finished Prototype this morning mopped up a few achievements before exchanging for UFC: Undisputed. Gradually playing through Lost Odyssey too it's kinda been on the back burner for the past week though. Thinking of renting a few easy gamerscore games to get to 75,000, on 72,494 at the moment. Starting a Final Fantasy Marathon with my friend soon, we're thinking of taking shifts sleeping and seeing how long a combined effort to run through all of them up to FF:X will take soon. As for E3, I'm liking Natal if it works properly but I hope it isn't compulsory for everything, I think it could work so well with some genres in gaming. Nothing really jumped out at me though, but saying that I already expected a lot of the stuff that was there. Alan Wake looks like it could be epic, something a bit different and innovative.
