The internet is a very good place for people to be who they are without being judged by others. It's very easy to come out and admit to being gay or bi or whatever online, but can be very difficult to do it face to face with family and friends. 🙂

It strikes me that we also have a very mixed fan basis here on Buffy Boards, and I've noticed quite a few members have commented on their sexuality.

I thought it would be good to have a thread where we could have a mature and thoughtful disscussion and if we want to, then we can express our own preferences.

I've added a Poll so that those of you that are unsure about commenting, can still vote discreetly. 😉 😉

This was done on another posting board, and it was a very popular thread there.

I've been in a gay relationship for 7 years now. I try to be as open about it as possible but I have to admit it is not always easy. You never know how people will react. Overall i've been really lucky with the way people have handled it. I know people who haven't been as lucky

I have friends that are gay, and bisexual and I always say that you when you fall in love then you fall in love with a person, not what sex they are. Given the right circumstances, who's to say that they wouldn't fall in love or be attracted to a person of the same sex. You just never know really. 😉 As long as you're happy who cares what everyone else thinks - if other people can't handle it, then it's their problem not yours! 🙂
 
Untill now, I've only had straight things, but I won't exclude the option!

Never say never! (Unless they ask you on when you would miss Buffy or Angel!)
 
I was actually going to post a thread like this, but I was unsure about how to go about it. Anyway...

I'm bisexual. I've "known" for about 2 years. Not a lot of people in my life know, but I have no problem with online friends knowing. I'll admit that I have flat out lied when asked if I was, and it's a horrible feeling lying about it because you're so scared how a certain person will react. I really don't want to be the kind of person who is afraid to be open about it and being afraid to be myself. I have about 7-10 friends who know I'm bisexual; I don't mind people gradually finding out, but people do criticize in my school; maybe even harass too. All the people that know I'm gay (my closest friends, and my twin sister) are pretty much fine with it (at least to my knowledge). My father (who doesn't live with me, so it's a bit easier) and my brother are both very religious people, and they see homosexuality as a very wrong lifestyle. Literally, my life would probably be a living hell if I 'came out' to them. For some people, it really isn't an easy thing to admit who they are; me, though..I'm bordering on lucky, so I'm thankful for that. And being bisexual doesn't define who I am; it just makes me a little different.🙂

With the majority of the posters in my room being girls, I'm surprised my mom hasn't figured it out already.😛
 
Hmm. I'd say I'm straight, never really had any dalliances with other females (such a good word 😀 ) but I've have/had friends who have been bisexual, and an old school mate of mine has just married her girlfriend 🙂
 
I'm bi. And i've been pretty open about it with my friends. My family, that's a different story. I told my mom Feb. of 2002. BIG MISTAKE. Now, every single girl or guy i have over she asks if they are gay or bi. And her homophobia has gotten worse, so I'm thinking of not even mentioning it to my dad. Who's worse then my mom. But I've known I was bi, since around 7th grade. I was considering about putting up a thread like this. You beat me to it! 🙂 Great thread.
 
As far as I know, I'm straight. However, I'm not one of those people who would completely refuse their feelings if I fell in love with a girl, but I am generally more attracted to guys.

Hey! I've got a bunch of posters of girls in my room too, but they're mostly just there 'cause they're my role models. Though SMG is VERY pretty!
 
It's good to see this thread starting to get some use, I was unsure how it would do with you guys, but it's nice to see you being so open about it. 🙂

Me personally, I still think of myself as Bisexual and have been for as long as I can remember. Yes I am also happily married with kids and life couldn't be better for me. Don't get me wrong, we haven't got some sort of weird set up in our marriage. 😉

Although I still find guys attractive, I don't feel the need to do anything about it. Since I've been with my partner Sarah, which is 11 years this year, I've found that I am completely content in my life with her, and have never felt the need to look elsewhere, afterall, when you're with a partner, you are with them a 100% in my opinion. 🙂
 
i can see men picking on gay males...cause there are some ignorant falks in this world...but what I can't understand is people picking on lesbians....or bisexual women....that's a damn shame to pick on something so beautiful....damn near brings a tear to my eye....

oh yeah...i'm straight as assylum garb...
 
I'm Bisexual, right now im in a relastionship with a women and havent been happyier but as Wes said it doesnt really matter yeah i find some guys atractive but its just the same as finding women arrtactive while im with someone i wouldnt act on atraction anyway.
